Figurehead is all he is. He's old too. He's probably going to die from natural causes before we find him. If he dies from cancer we'll probably take credit for it.
Why does it matter if he's dead? Honestly.

Bottomline is, he's over 60 years old. He sits around all day waiting to die. He's not much of a direct threat anymore. Plus, if he's so smart, he probably planned what would happen if he died already. So it doesn't matter.

When he is assassinated, murdered or executed that will serve as a lesson for his "replacement"!

It doesn't make any difference which American president is in power - they all attack other countries to try and make people beleve that they are good leaders - Bin Laden is just an excuse for their behaviour - once Bin laden is gone, they'll find another excuse to invade another country. Lets face it, when countries go to war, its only the polticians protecting their jobs - if another country invaded and took over the government do you really think there would be that much change - no - it would only make a difference if the people decided they didn't like the way the country was being run - and even then, they probably wouldn't do anything about it.

I would see him being found more trouble than anything. Sure him being caught will bring some of the spirit back into the Us and its soldiers. But another guy will take his place, and he will probably get good medical health instead of rotting in what ever pit he is hiding in. Also my biggest fear is that this will be a major boost to President Bush's apporval rating and the republicans run in the upcoming election.

Figurehead? He's a lot more than that. He's a trained (by the CIA) leader of men. He is very capable of playing on the fears of Islamic extremists and getting them motivated enough to die for their cause. They also see his dedication and will fight for it. They see a multi-billionaire who could be chillin in Hawaii but he's right there with them in the caves of some desert.
What does it matter if he's dead? A lot. It's unlikely that Al-Quida can replace him with someone as smart, charismatic to his own people, and dedicated as him. In fact, haven't you seen the video of one of the top men from Al-Quida who couldn't even operate his own gun? Yeah, kinda hard to have faith in someone and die for someone who doesn't even know what he's doing.

Because bringing him to justice is not only fair to those whose death he is responsible for, but also to set an example that the world and the international community will neither tolerate terrorism nor let it go without justice. In a way, finding him is meant to dissuade other terrorists, besides punishing him for killing over 3000 people.

I think he will be found and killed, just before the election this year to bolster the repuglicans. It is a political thing. Leadership has already been planed out.
