If the immigrant is illegal, they have no right to file a lawsuit in this country. You should simply report him and have him deported and pay him in live chickens before he crosses the border.

If you lose the lawsuit because you legitimately wronged this person, you could just try, oh...I don't know, fixing it without degrading them. I think its called kindness (k-eye-nd-nuss: the quality of being warm-hearted and considerate, humane and sympathetic ). Something along those lines might be an appropriate way of paying them.
