I recieved my 3 week old Texan and Concentic on August 28th. 1in. in length. as of now their 2 3/4in. front to back. Heavy look ok i guess. But their scutes, the ones i thought they should have shed by now look almost glued on! I have a 100watt uva/uvb mercury vapor bulb for them about 16in. from their basking area. I also keep their water very clean, they eat twice daily Reptomin and Krill and sometimes meal worms. they naw and eat the crushed coral subsrate in their tank for calcium. I dont know what i could be doing wrong! Ive never seen these type of turtles go through the growing stage so maybe im just trippin! I just want the best for em. Amanda

What would you feed the crickets that would be nutritious for the chickens that will eat them

I am doing a science experiment that has to do with the light color preferences of cricket. Please dont give me crap this will not hurt the crickets all that will happen is they will have a choice of which enviornment they will go into and each enviornment will have a different color. So the question is would it be really loud to keep them in my room(which is the most convinient) or will I not be able to sleep at night. There will be about 50-100 crickets

She is outside and she seems to be hibernating. I would like to wake her up, and let her hibernate again. Can she hibernate more than once during the season?
I live in South Florida where the weather is warm. What if the weather gets warm and she wakes up on her own? Will she need food? What if we are not around to feed her for 3 weeks?

Hey, I own a 2 year old coastal carpet python and am wanting to get another. The 2 year old is very placid, a female and 110cm long and about the width of a 10c coin. Is it okay to put a male coastal carpet python that is 70cm and 5c coin width in the same tank with the other one? The tank is 75cm long x 45cm deep x 50cm high.
Thanks in advance

I have a friend whose neighbor keeps "snake/s" in his town home. Couple of questions a) is it legal to keep snake/s, as a pet in a residence? b) the neighbor (the one not with the snake) got this fear--in case of fire or water flood or some other emergency situation could the snake escape and make its way to the neighboring "safe" house/s? If yes, how do you deal with the presence of an unwanted snake in one's home, specially when you have a pet dog? Step by step advice appreciated.

last year around october through december i noticed he did not eat or ate very little food, about once or twice a week. He started doing the same thing last month, i also noticed he finds the coldest spot in his terrarium and stays there for days at the time, is this normal or are these sign he might be getting sick?
