Reptiles - November 2006

We were told the sex cannot be determined and that the conditions in this country are not ideal for breeding. However recently one has started to dig in the pebbles in the water as if nesting. I have read that they come on to land to nest, could it be possible that she could be pregnant? If it is what other signs could we look for and is there anything in particular we need to do?

My golden gecko came out of its tank because my mother left it not properly closed... the tank is next to a window that stays open a little bit during the whole night. My question is... are golden geckos territorial enough to come back to their "house"? or if not so, do they establish themselves in some place? or do they wander around? I am very depressed because of this situation, specially because here in mexico we've got scorpions and many other animals that could put him in danger. I'd appreciate all help in this matter. Thanx to everyone

I've had my healthy Russian Tortoise for 15 years but lately it seems as though his face, or the upper part of his mouth/jaw, is growing. It's getting longer and is getting in the way when he eats. Almost like an overbite. Anyone know what this is? Should I take him to a vet? Thanks!

my green iguana has started eating a little less and tends to disapear into his hide box about 4pm now as opposed to about 10pm normally is this normal behavouir?
