The larger one is not always allowing the smaller one to eat. I acquired them from someone that was not taking good care of them. I tried putting food in two different spots but the smaller one still waits to eat.Since they have been together so long I was afraid to separate them. I am not sure of the sex of either of them since food, vitamins, and correct lighting have been my first concerns.

It was suggested to me after posting another question on here that maybe I should just ask someone on here for advise so that is what I am doing now. I know of an african clawed frog with some kind of injury to its foot. The frog is still eating and acting normal. In the webbing of it's one foot it looks like there is blood. I have pics if anyone who might be able to help would like to see them. Don't know how I would go about that on here but if you know let me know and I will send the pics to you. My friend is really worried about her frog and has contacted a herp vet in her city but the vet has never called her back. She has tried different meds melafix, maracyn and maracyn two on the frog but it has made no difference. Anyone who can help please do.
Thanks.

I have a small red eared slider and the pet store recommended a turtle block (white chalky block that disolves in water). I did put it in. Will I have to add one with every water change? At $2+ dollar a block this could get expensive.
Is this just to make the water alkaline or is it mostly to add calcium to the water. If my water is alkaline enough, do I need one?

i recently had i cornsnake that wouldnt eat for me and after a little over a month, i put her in snake rehabilitation and they discovered she had internal parasites. She died about a month later and now i have a cali kingsnake who i put in the same cage. i cleaned the cage about a week and a half before i gave the cornsnake to rehab but forgot to clean it after that besides new bedding and water. Is there any chance my new kingsnake might get parasites from the cage? i have cleaned it all out now but she was in there about a week before i did...

My 9 year old son wants a pet lizard. I was told that Eyelash Crested Geckos were a good start. Easy to take care of and have a long life span (as far as they know). Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Never had a pet lizard before so I don't even know where to start.
