It was suggested to me after posting another question on here that maybe I should just ask someone on here for advise so that is what I am doing now. I know of an african clawed frog with some kind of injury to its foot. The frog is still eating and acting normal. In the webbing of it's one foot it looks like there is blood. I have pics if anyone who might be able to help would like to see them. Don't know how I would go about that on here but if you know let me know and I will send the pics to you. My friend is really worried about her frog and has contacted a herp vet in her city but the vet has never called her back. She has tried different meds melafix, maracyn and maracyn two on the frog but it has made no difference. Anyone who can help please do.
Thanks.

Yeah, I know a few things about African clawed frogs and also have experience treating injuries for amphibians. You should probably get your water checked and see if the nitrate, nitrite and ammonia are in the water. If the wound upon his foot is starting to regress and get worst then start conducting daily 25% water changes in order to boost the frog's immune system. Not sure why you'd use melafix, maracyn and maracyn 2...usually tetracycline and sulfa work better on amphibians in my experience.

It's hard to advise without seeing..you can email me the pic. I would guess without looking it is probably an injury. Maracyn or maracyn2 isn't going to help if it is not an infection. If the frog is eating and acting normal, he will probably heal just fine, my biggest concern would be to finding out what happened to him so it doesn't happen again. If you email me the pic, I will take a look and give you a better opinion. :-)

I know they're frogs, they're African, and they have claws. That's about as far as I can go with it, sorry.
