The larger one is not always allowing the smaller one to eat. I acquired them from someone that was not taking good care of them. I tried putting food in two different spots but the smaller one still waits to eat.Since they have been together so long I was afraid to separate them. I am not sure of the sex of either of them since food, vitamins, and correct lighting have been my first concerns.

Well, if they aren't agressive towards eachother then that is good. Sounds to me like the bigger one is the male and the smaller one is the female. But iguanas are territorial. Even when it comes to their food. How big of an enclosure do you have them in? For more than one iguana, you need a room sized enclosure for them to be able to have their own space. Their health depends on their stress level. The lower their stress level, the healthier they will be. I recommend separating them, I know you are worried because they've been together for a while, but I know the smaller one will thank you for it. You should leave the larger one where he's at because he's already claimed it as his territory and relocate the smaller one. i'm glad you rescued them from someone that wasn't taking care of them, but you need to do some research. I recommend getting this book called "Iguanas For Dummies". it will tell you everything you need to know about them. You might be surprised how much there is to learn. Good luck.

First, a vet who specializes in exotic animals can tell you the sex of the iguana. The vet will be able to give you tips on feeding them, as well.

Do they live in a aquarium or do they have free reign of the house/apartment? If they have free reign, I'd suggest try putting the smaller one in an aquarium for feeding times, out of sight from the bigger one.

Good luck.

This sounds like displaced sadness and probably even an unstated concern pertaining to to your relationship. you're making it sound like a million 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and a couple of years of relationship isn't 'sufficient' time until eventually now somebody ought to get engaged. quite the different, maximum couples get engaged after 12-sixteen months while they suspect have got here upon 'the single'. The longer the relationship, the 'honeymoon' era passes and the fewer possibly a pair gets engaged because of the fact they're head over heels in love, yet particularly because of the convenience point and historic past they have with the different individual and in lots of cases, their entire social and economic existence relies around this individual. A severe share declare it replaced into much less stressful to get married than 'initiate over back'. the different engaged couples are nevertheless interior the 'magically in love, stars of their eyes' area of their relationships. i've got faith what you experience is sadness in no longer sharing that feeling or circumstances particularly than with reference to the 'thunder' or spotlight, extraordinarily as you had to talk him into marriage. regardless of in case you would be in a greater physically powerful place on your view of 'married existence'. because of the fact the years bypass via, a relationship falls into common varieties and on an analogous time as that sounds uninteresting, is relatively sturdy on your actual wellness. you will no longer experience the great 'letdown' while the honeymoon area is over. you're already mushy understanding precisely what you have become and how your relationship would be. Congratulations and maximum suitable needs.

Try separating them at feeding time. As long as they are not aggressive towards each other at any other time I would keep them together except when they eat.
