They actually sell cricket food that you are to feed your crickets before you feed them to your reptiles. They call it "gut loading". Crickets will eat anything so you have to provide them with a food source thats at least nutricious. The cricket food I used was mainly made up of crushed grains. That would be perfect to feed them that especially cause that what chickens eat as well.

There are a number of packaged cricket diets available for feeder crickets. Some are soft gel squares, some are dry powder feeds. If you don't want to buy that, you can just feed them chunks of fresh fruits and veggies- they'll eat just about anything. Just remove uneaten food every day or you'll have them eating rotten food and that could make your chickens sick.

For the feeder crickets I give to my gecko I use Nature Zone Total Bites, I don't know if it'd be any different for preparing them to be chicken chow. The Total Bites are little green cubes for feeder insects to provide them with their food, water, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. They smell kinda like apples too =) Anyways, perhaps that could be something to look into.
