I had water dragons for at least ten years, and I hired somebody to make a cage according to my specifications.
Adult water dragons need a cage six feet high, four feet wide, and two feet deep. They need some shelves and ropes or branches to climb on.
Water dragons often rub their snouts on glass or clear plastic, and this is a big problem because they can really damage their snouts. I solved this problem by using 1/2 inch fencing mesh, from a hardware store, on the sides of the cage. They didn't rub it much because they could see it and feel its roughness, but it was still easy to see through.
I had a door the entire height of the cage, because you need to be able to reach every part of the cage easily. I put 2 or 3 incandescent lights and a heated rock thing for the dragons to warm their bellies on after eating. I kept a dish pan of water on the floor. Although it is recommended that they be kept pretty warm, I found that they spent most of their time in the cooler parts of the cage. Of course the cage was kept indoors; they are tropical lizards.
Since crickets could easily get out of this cage, I usually took the lizards out of the cage to feed them. This wasn't much trouble because they only got hungry every 4 to 7 days.

Have you tried going to Petsmart or Petco? They always have a huge selection of tanks! If not, try going to Walmart or any department store! they may have something in stock!
