You are thinking of a reptile tail. Think of your turtle as a human, if your arm was bitten off you would go to the hospital and it would not grow back. You need to get him to a vet.

No, you need to take your turtle to the vet ASAP. They should give you ointment in which to prevent infection. What type of turtles were these? Some should not be kept together, especially in a tight habitat.

short answer - no

long question - what the heck was it doing with another turtle and why did it bite of the other one's arm?

1. read a good caresheet. like from a breeder or reptilerooms.com
2. get it to a vet if you haven't already. He can answer all your questions, give you a Rx to prevent infections in the turt and so forth.
3. separate the turts if you haven't already.

No.
It does not grow back like an iguanas tail would.
He becomes a stub.
But
If its your turtle,
make sure the wound is looked at or taken care of becuase
turtles are very easily proned to disease.
So be careful.

they are no longer very affectionate in any respect yet could nicely be dealt with without biting. I surely have 3 turtles (have had them for 4 years now) and that they've grown somewhat enormous. they're crimson earred terapin turtles. i've got have been given them whilst they have been purely infants. besides, affectionate in the direction of me, no longer on a similar time as quickly as. you could %. them up and cope with them no issue yet they instruct no signs and indicators of love. they're neat to have nonetheless. incredibly whilst they hunt. they're in a eighty gallon tank with plastic clay rocks to sit down down back on so as quickly as I put in some feeder fish, they flow looking! its somewhat cool... Sorry, getting somewhat off subject be counted yet regrettably, the respond isn't any.

No it doesn't. Only lizards can grow back their tails. In fact, in the wild, lizards will eat their own tail if there is no food available.
