I have one mouse in here now, soon to be two (I think):

There's a chewing block right behind the tube also. It's a ten gallon tank with a secure mesh lid. Any suggestions for what I could add or improve? Thanks!

I went to the pet store today, intending to get a hamster. However, there were not many hamsters, so after many questions to the owner, I bought an adorable baby mouse.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v627/bagel_girl/100_0679.jpg .. .. . .

I have a few questions for more experienced owners:

1) After some additional research, I found that it would be a good idea to have 2 mice, not just one (I was thinking about syrian hamsters at the store, which like to be alone, and didn't think to ask about this). I need some help determining the baby's gender in order to go and pick up one of his/her siblings. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it - here's some pictures, sorry if they are blurry:

He/she is about a week old.

2)His/her left eye is not open as wide as the right eye. Why could this be?

Thanks!

This just happened two weeks ago. She is eating and appears to be fine. The temperature has been in the teens and twenties for the past couple of weeks.

I've read on sites that it's important, but do any of you gerbil owners actually use one?

Ok...this morning I got up and my hamster wasnt moving...i tapped on the cage and she still didnt move then soon enough she started moving around all stiff and stubbling around...one of her eyes were closed and she wasnt breathing right...then i tried to pick her up and she started rocking back and forth and layed down in the corner of her cage.....so i went to school sure she would be dead when i got home and she is still alive right now....but she is breathing very heavy and shallow, she is also in the same spot from this morning and i tried to pick her up again and she did the rocking back and forth thing again...she will be 3 years old in march and i dont know what to do....i cant really afford a vet and im tempted to call and ask for help....please any advice or any idea of what she has will help....

Ok, i really really want a dog.

If i bought a dog would it wee everwhere, because thats why i wouldnt be allowed one. Also it wouldnt be allowed to strol through the house on its own.It would have to be in a large crate and limited rooms.I would take it for walks every day.

Is this crule?

He will only climb inside it to sleep in it, and to take food into it and sit and eat. He's about the laziest little thing I've ever seen! I've tried putting peanut butter on the top part, but he just got out and spun it with his little hand until he got to the peanut butter and ate it. He is smart, he knows his name and has been potty trained outside his cage, but I just cannot figure out how to make the little porker use his wheel! I spent a lot of money on it too! It is the largest Silent Spinner brand that clips to his cage. He's really got to lose weight, we give him too many treats, but a diet isn't going to be enough unless he can get exercise when he's up at night. (For those not familiar, rats are nocturnal and are about as active as a pile of mud during the day)
ANY TIPS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED BY MY FAMILY AND OUR FAT LITTLE BANDIT! :o) THANKS!

I noticed it this morning, and I really don't want to have to give her antibiotics if it can be helped. I've pumped her full of vitamin C, given her fresh green pepper, covered her cage with a blanket, and turned the heat up to 72 degrees from it's usual 68.
She's eating and drinking well. I know they are prone to URI's, but is it possible for it to go away on it's own, or is this the beginning of a huge URI that will send her to the vet? I've also used Peter's RX to dab on her nose.
