He is over 3. He has one then gets better. But his eyes are very wide and he feels cold. :( What euthanasia is best for ratties? I wish I could help him feel as comfortable as possible till morning. If he makes it we can see the vet........:(

Our dwarf hamster's left ear is bleeding. At first, we thought maybe she got it caught on something in the cage, but it now looks like it's bleeding just inside the ear. There's enough blood that it drips down the side of her face but it's not free flowing.

We see the blood only sporadically as she usually quickly cleans it up. It has been going on for several days, but she is active and behaving normally.

Any ideas what could be causing this, or what we should be doing?

I get so sad watching and hearing this stuff, but I have to in order to educate myself. And the one of the things I can do is to spread the word. These videos came from the PETA website. Please if you can write letters, spread these links, spread the word. Do SOMETHING!!!! This cruelty needs to be stopped and there are so many better alternatives. Alternatives to clothing, to food, alternatives to testing on animals. So many things people can do, and most just turn their head. Please take a minute to do something, even if it's forwarding one of these videos. Who wouldn't????

This is one of the most disturbing videos I've seen and the most disturbing article. I wrote to the Minister (link at bottom). I hope others will too. This is so wrong and inhumane and I don't understand how people can be so cruel. How can people do this? And how can people see this and know about it and not do anything? And not want to do anything?...is turning a blind eye better than writing in and spreading the word? See link:

So tonight he was climbing on the bars like he always does and he started freaking out. half of his jaw was stuck outside the bars. He stopped struggling and was just like there, so I lifted the bar as much as I could to help him get out, and then he started to fight again and got out. Now his eyes look bloody and he wont take any treats. I have had hamsters my whole life, but this has never happened, and I don't know what to do! Help!

He is a small Rabbit about 4lbs last vet visit. He is white and a kind of tannish gray large patches. His face looks a lot like my female that I know is a dutch. The one thing about him that I find unique is he has bright blue eyes. I've looked at many rabbit pictures and looked a rabbits at the state fair and pet stores and have never seen another blue eyed rabbit. Is this a rare trait
ot a trait that is normally found in a specific breed?

I have a "rescued" hedgehog... I've had him since he was a baby, and he is not my first. I had a male, and a pregnant female (who had 5 healthy babies) about 10 years ago, and NEVER had a problem with any of them... including the babies!
Now I have a full grown male, he was 'rescued' from a flea market when he was a baby, and I have had alot of trouble with skin problems with him. His quills keep falling out, and it looks as if his 'scalp' (for lack of a better word....) is very flakey and dry. There is only one vet in town that I know of that deals with exotics, and it is just about impossible for me to get there during their business hours with my work schedule. I have talked to several 'hedgie pros', and have tried all of their advice--such as changing diet, different litter, and oatmeal bath..... It just seems that this little guy is destined to have skin irritation! If anyone has any "new" ideas for me to try, please let me know!

I have a pair of breeding mice, not mated yet, wanted to find out what the best way to euthenize the pups at about 5 days old. We've going to feed the pups to my daughters snake. Buying them at the pet store is running 6-8$ a week and I've looked into bulk buying, but the overall cost was too much with shipping to balance out. I pay .87-$1.29 per fuzzy and the sites I visited for bulk fuzzies averaged .49ea sold in 100 counts only plus nearly $65 shipping. The cheapest way is to raise our own. I want only the most humain way to do this. Live feeding is out for us, our vet advised against it with all the other small animals we have as pets. If this works, we're considering breeding rats for the same purpose.
