this is a very easy solution to figure out. the chicken came first. after all it takes a chicken to produce a egg. a chicken egg must maintain a certain temperture for it to develop into a chick, for this to happen it needs a mother chicken called a hen to sit on the egg and turn it over at times so it develops correctly. otherwise a egg left lying around will not develop but rot. and most important it takes a male chicken called a rooster to mate with the female chicken. the hen for the egg to get fertile to develop into a chick.

The chicken came first.... In a harsh world, how could chicks survive without a mother... So the chicken came first.. If eggs came first, then the probability of the first generation surviving is very little.

the chicken could've been first, but it was too, well, chicken. So an almostchicken beastie had hot sex among the ferns and out came the chicken egg. Chicken. Funny word.

The dinosaur that evolved into the chicken came first.
Unless you don't believe the evidence seen throughout the world that evolution exists, and in which case it was God who made the first chickens, male and female, because eggs need to be brooded to hatch.

The chicken came first. God created the beasts of the earth. Then the Lord commanded them to reproduce after their own kid. Then came the egg.

Anyone who's been in a relatioship before can tell you exactly who came first....The Rooster did, then the chicken was so ticked off when the rooster rolled over and went to sleep that she actually crapped out an egg.

The rooster! :-) kidding.
No one will ever answer this question I guess.
I think first chickens were born then after many years of evolution they've started laying eggs :)
