I have 3 male piggies. Two of them chew the Oxbow Vit C tablets with no problems. The other one will only take it once in a great while. I know he should take it daily but he doesn't. They are very picky and don't eat all the fruit and vegtables that most pigs do. I tried a small slice of orange and I thought they were going to chew the bars off the cage trying to get away from it! My question is, what is the best liquid vitamin C product out there for guinea pigs? A lot of those vitamins you buy in the pet stores have so many other ingredients in them that I wonder if they need all that extra stuff!? I don't care how much it costs. I just want the best! I feed them Oxbow pellets with romaine lettuce, carrots, celery, bananas, apples, and lots of Oxbow hay. I do offer lots of other things, but they are usually rejected. Can they get too much vitamin C? I was told that any extra will get "eliminated."
Thanks for the help!

My rabbit gets really excited when I walk by his cage. Mostly because he hears the bell I wear, and usually right after he hears it, he gets a carrot. Maybe thats just what hes used to. Anyways, I've run out of carrots, and I feel bad every time I walk by his cage, and he gets all excited, and in return, gets nothing. We have some food here, and I was wondering what is good for them and what is bad. Because I know there are some veggies out there that are bad for them :D

I want to adopt a polar bear, but I don't really understand what it's all about. I mean, you don't get to have it stay at your house.

Ok, so I received these answers to one of my questions: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ag6dJDxfUutydzUHWTXND2bsy6IX?qid=20070215170415AATyO5X

And they worried me. I mean, I understand that outdoor cats live a lot less than indoor ones. My two cats are year old and so far I've kept them inside. They've only been outdoors for a few months, or a couple of months. But I never let them outdoor for too long. I keep them out for a few weeks, then let them in again. What I mean is, how will that affect their life expectancy?

OK, so I was riding my 3 year old gelding yesterday, like I always do, and suddenly, out of nowhere, he threw me! I have no idea why, but it was very startling......I got back on of course, but does anyone have any idea why he'd do that? He's never bucked before let along thrown me.....do horses have just "days", or should there have been a reason? Anyone have any similar experiences? Thanks!

I heard that IAMS among most other popular pet foods cruelly test on animals. (Purina, Science Diet, IAMS, Whiskas, etc.) What in the hell food am I supposed to buy? I don't want to support cruel treatment, but the list I saw was of all the foods I've ever heard of. What can I buy and where can I go?

Im so sick of seeing those posts, DONT be scared to call your vet up. THEY are there to assist you in taking proper care of your animal.

I awoke this morning to find the 8 week ok pointer puppy I adopted from the pound on tuesday acting strangely. Instead of whining and barking to get out of his crate, he was laying there, moaning. I took him to the vet and they diagnosed him with parvo. He has thrown up a little since I got him, but i figured it was just nerves since he just came from the pound. The vet said his stool was very normal looking, no blood or anything, which he said is a good sign for recovery. His temp is about 105 and he told me to put rubbing alcohol on his paws to bring down the fever. Since I live 3 min away, he's treating the pup as an outpatient and I will bring him in about twice a day for fluids. Is this ok? I've been reading that a hospital stay is extremely necessary. If so, what can I do here at home to help his survival chances? This is so heartbreaking, this is the sweetest little pup in the world and I haven't been able to stop crying since I found out!

It seems that close contact is sometimes interchanged with jumping. If I want to buy a jumping saddle, would I be able to jump in a close contact? If not, what are close contacts used for?

I have this pet squirrel (three months old) that goes to bed 8-9 pm at night and wakes up 6-7 am EVERY morning to jog across my bed. He runs across the top then under and back over in a constant loop for about an hour, maybe two. I can't sleep in anymore...and if I leave my door close he starts to chew a hole in the corner of my door until I let it in.
