my science professor said he was unsure? do you knoww?

Yes they do swim if they have to. I have seen them cross a creek by swimming to get away from our hounds when we were hunting raccoons. I think all animals can swim to a more or less degree depending on what they are. I have even seen chickens swim for a short distance. Look up some of the old re-runs of the Beverly Hillbillies and they often had a rooster that would swim in their swimming pool.

I'll bet they can,skunks are amazing animals that can live just about anywhere and not be noticed until somebody raises a stink,so to speak. I've seen them climb into trees,and it just stands to reason that they could swim too.-----PeeTee

I think they don't because then they're spray would't work. Check out google though! Good Luck!

yes and there are really good at it to one of the top rodent swimmer besides of course the capbarra or whatever

i am pretty sure they can, but they are not just going to go in a pond just for a swim
