They are both the same sex, but we dont know if they are both male or female. One has a black head and a black stipe that runs the lenght of the top of his body, and the other has a light brown head and the rest of him is white .The rat has a white nose then the colour slowly changes to light brown the further up his head you move. This one also has a white marking on his head that looks like a white thunderbolt. Any ideas on good names??

Please help, iv only had my hamster 2 days so i am not sure why but she screams at me. The first day i got her she was doing it quite alot and then stopped. Last night she was in her bed and everytime i spoke to her she was screaming at me (thats the best way to describe its a bit like growling) almost telling me to shut up. I give her lots of attention and am handling her alot, i have also bought her loads of toys. Shes kept very clean aswell, does she just need more time to settle in?

Please help i dont want her to be unhappy!!

Basically I have a black cat whom I love. Her name is Bear. She is only 9 months old and 2 weeks ago she went missing for the first time. 2 days ago she came back, and it turns out whilst she was gone she had been neutured and microchipped! We kept Bear inside since then and my mum is taking her to the vet today, but then yesetrday we saw "missing" posters all around our road with a picture of Bear on them! We rang the number and politely told them she is our cat, but they are saying that she is theirs now because they microchipped her! They are saying that they are going to come round and take her back and me and my mum don't know what to do! Please help! What can I do? And who legally has rights to keep Bear!? She is ours, our other cat Meggy gave birth to her! Maybe I can to a DNA test to prove this? Is that possible!? PLEASE HELP I AM CRYING MY EYES OUT I WANT TO DIE!!!!!!!!!! SHES MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry this was so long :(

We have lots of space and two kids that like to have animals to nurture. And we have a lot of leftovers and food related waste. Ideally some chickens would be good, but because of the avian flu there are restrictions on keeping birds in Europe. Any ideas?

Ok, you may all think im sad, just think of the hamster!!

He broke his leg last week so i took him to the vet, he said to leave the leg, take his wheel out and it will heal of its own acord.

It isn't healing, and the problem is its beginning to pierce the skin! It hasn't actualy broke through yet but the blood is coming to the surface.

What should i do now, leave it...... what......??

When i see his little face it makes me want to cry.

Thanks for your help xx

The vet told me and I know.. I bought her as a 8- year old and I have had her for for 7 years. I know I have to do it, but I'm crying as I'm typing. There is nothing more I can do, I would appreciate some encouraging words for my dreadful day ahead.

As a breeder, I have one question for the public, why can't the "unwanted" rabbits sent to be euthanized, be used as a meat source for the homeless. I am not supporting animal crualty, but instead am looking at two problems that could solve eachother. There are hundreds of thousands of people who don't have food in the world, and thousands of rabbits that are put down in the US alone because they are "unwanted". I grew up thinking of rabbit as the other white meat, not a little pet. So why can't we take the overpopulation in rabbits and use it to help feed the hungry of the world? If we are going to put them down, why not use them for something, than just waste the carcasses?

I want to build a run for my piggies so that they can run outside for an hour or two everyday. If I wanted to let them outside for 1-2 hours a day, though, how warm would it have to be?

Also, and I never take them outside for more than 15 minutes or so in the summertime, and NEVER when the temperature is any higher than about 75 degrees. So, please don't give me the 'high heat' lecture! :P

What is a good breed for trail riding (non-competitive)? What do you think about Appaloosas? Arabians? Any other suggestions?

My new guy (3 months old) does not like toys. The only thing I have seen him play with is: running through tubes, my moving feet, and plastic bags. I have tried plush toys, swinging balls, jingley bells, etc. Even if I wiggle the toy around- he has no interest and goes for my hands or feet instead. He does not bite or chew or scratch anywhere. He also will not eat treats --yet :)
Basically all he does is runs laps around the room for 2 hours or crawls around on my shoulder.

Any ideas on toys/ interactive entertainment? I have never dealt with a ferret who has no interest in 99% of toys.
