Went to a zoo with my children in S-africa, they loved the monkeys and spent most of their time laughting at them. One lady came and stood next to them when the monkey suddenly scratched his behind and threw poo at the lady, some landed on my daughter and she screamed blue murder. I stay far away from monkeys , evil little creatures and much to clever for my liking. I swear they are human:)))

As an animal and travel lover, my experience has been good. I think it is down to your own feelings. I have ridden elephants, camels and horses and had a great experience. Animals will always be unpredictable by nature. They have their own minds and feelings, making the possibility of something going wrong even more possible.

Any animal experts should know that there is always a chance that things may go wrong, and I sympathise with your situation, but problems are hard to predict, I'm afraid.

i'm so sorry to hear that, i hope that your o.k. now. they probably abused the elephant during training and other situations. many zoos and circus do. it's rather unfortunate to say the least. i was attacked by a husky when i was 12 years old. he ripped my lip off of my face. thanks to one of the BEST plastic surgeons on the east coast, i only have a small scar that can be covered by lip gloss. i had to wait for the dogs quarantine to be finished to find out if it had rabies. moral of the story, never pet a dog named SATAN!!!! no rabies thank god. the owners gave the dog to a farmer. atleast that is what they told my friend. i think the abused the dog. my father wanted to shoot it but i wouldn't allow him. i still love and respect dogs and all other animals. i'm just a little scared of dogs i don't know.

i had the best ever experience of my life with elephants, it really was amazing. i stroked many youung elephants at an orphanage, rode an elephant round a little village in sri lanka, and had an 'elepahnt shower' in a river - basically rode the elephant bare back and it squirted me with water from its trunk.

it really was amazing something ill never forget!
