I don't really know if this helps to tap you piggy on the nose. This is something you do to dogs cats and children. Your little guinea pig needs things to chew on so go to the local pet store and get him something. Or go on line to a breeder sight and they maybe able to help with something you may already have around the house. Carrots are always good for chewing. If your piggy is having some sort of fit definatly don't do it again.

It's probably not a good idea to tap him.. You are alot bigger and a small tap on his nose might actually feel like a punch to the face. Maybe just move him away from what he is nibbling on.. It seems like it would b difficult to train a guinea pig because I don't believe thay have very long memory spans.

If you're just tapping him on the nose, it won't hurt him, which is KEY!
If he is jumping around, he may think you are playing with him, and he is getting excited. But tapping him on the nose should be ok, as long as you aren't doing it hard, or with force. But saying no, is good.

The mouth is it's hands and well as it's mouth. He may be nibbling to sample and check things out. The best way I can think of to keep him from nibbling is, keep him away from the stuff you don't want him nibbling.

Thats a good thing, keep scolding him if he does soemthing you don't want him to do, he'll under stand, if he does'nt want to get tapped on the nose, he'll stop, so continue it, and he'll eventually discontinue it.

my parents used to roll up a newpaper and 'correct me' when I was a kid...
you may want to try that.
Don't use a magazine though, that stings!!!
