Because I was looking for fish and I need to know how warm is normal room temp so I know if I need to get a heater

Okay I was thinking for my ten gallon tank get a small goldfish and a pleco then a week or so later getting two guppies. Is this to much? What would I have to keep the water temp at?

it is either a 50 gal or 55, i can't remember, i bought it at wal-mart 4 yrs ago.

Three of our goldfish have now come down with the same illness. It looks like a white patchy area on the head between the eyes and the mouth. It's the exact same on all 3 fish and isn't anywhere else on their bodies. I am pretty sure it isn't ich. We treated twice for a fungal infection which helped a bit but didn't clear it up. Has anyone heard of something the fish might get all in the same area (head)?

I just purchased a 125 gallon tank which I will be keeping African cichlids. I am interested in getting a jack dempsey and green terror. What would be some good tankmates for them? What kind of substrate should I use; sand, gravel, or both? I know cichlids like they ph to be high so do I just add some ph upper every week? What would be some good decorations for them; do they like driftwood, flowerpots, slate?? Also, the filter that came with the tank are a magnum 350 and emperor 400, plus an acura 1000 heater....is this enough or do i need more/different kinds? Thank you to anyone who answers i really appreciate it

I thought obout building my own but the cut acrylic alone runs about $675 and the biggest ive found so far is a 210 gallon and it runs at $650 but i really want a 240 gallon The dimentions im looking for are 8'x2'x2'

I need to move my 55 Gallon Aquarium. What do I need to do to make sure my fish do not die? How much of the original water should I keep? I'm not sure what to do. It has never been moved since it was set up. Thanks for your help.

our tank has 2 plecostomus, 2 parrot fish, a tiger oscar, and an albino oscar. we wanted to decorate the tank with sand and marbles , but wasn't sure if the sand would do any harm. any info would be helpful.

I bought this Betta Bowl Essential Kent Freshwater formula that's supposed to dechlorinate my betta's water. It says to put 1 capful for every quart. I'm assuming since I have a gallon tank, I put 4 capfuls. Seems like a lot, but just wanted to make sure that was right before I did it.

Also, I bought aquarium salt that said it's safe to use each change. I believe you put one half teaspoonful of it per gallon. Is this something that can stay in the water?

they are about 1/4 in long pretty light green's and yellow's but the are eating my other fish i bought them cause they were in with the guppies and got caught now i hate them they eat the fancy guppies im trying to raise but cant kill them either soft heart
