how much do 240gallon fishtanks cost and where do i buy them?

I thought obout building my own but the cut acrylic alone runs about $675 and the biggest ive found so far is a 210 gallon and it runs at $650 but i really want a 240 gallon The dimentions im looking for are 8'x2'x2'

A 265 gallon tank (84 in x 24 in x 30 in) is the largest mass produced tank. In my area, in glass, it costs $1,280. That is just the glass tank, no stand or other equipment!

I'd recommend you go to a live fish store and see what they can order for you. You'll want to buy from a local store - the shipping on a big tank like that would be way too high.

I would only try to build a tank of that size if you are really, really sure you know what you are doing - that much water spilling into your house if the tank breaks would be a disaster!

I don't know how much it's going to cost but you should try places where they sell only fish. They might be able to tell you where you can go or they might be able to order it for you. If you have already tried your local pet centers then it can't hurt to try there. Good luck
