do fishesh get bored when they r kept in aqurium?i heard that their memory span is aout 1 min and they dont get bored or sad.
do they lose their freedom?
do they miss their parents and other friend fishesh?

All of a sudden I hear a sound, not paying attention and a few minutes later I see cracks on the glass or plastic...whats going on.

It seems like the first attempt was unsuccesful. He even stopped tending the nest. So i cleaned the tank and got it set up for my second pair. They were in a tank with a divided and showing signs of being ready. So i put them together (the male first, let him get used to it while the female was in a plastic breeder - he blew a decent sized bubble nest, she was showing darker colors and the stripes). They've been chasing each other and flaring at each other for going on two hours now. Should i leave them together overnight? How can i tellif they've finished and how can i tell if there are eggs in the nest?

The nitrate level is okay, pH is acidic and alkaline is low. The ammonia meter says that ammonia is at a safe level. Any suggestions?

I had goldfish when i was really little and don't remember how to take care of them. The goldfish I use to have was about 2 inches long and I kept it in a little bowl and it lived for about 2 years. I want at least 3 goldfish and I have a 10 gallon tank with a heater and filter, what do I need to know about goldfish care?

I need to know what to use to get rid of nitrite and nitrate and alkalinity.... also I made a mistake because the water was BAD I cleaned it 100% and the next day it all shot up to nitrite-80,nitrate-3.0,hardness- 0,alkalinity- 80, ph-6.8 . I USE DRINKING WATER, so it's perfect. I also use start right, bullseye 7.0, ammo lock, and prime....they keep dying I have 3 guppys 1 cory 1 pleco & 1 red claw crab in a 5 gal tank. I'm planning on getting a 29 maby 20 gal tank soon also. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Two of the goldfish have bodies that are over 5 inches, the 3rd one is about 4 inches.I currently have them in a 29 gallon "long" size tank.I have TWO Aquaclear filters 50 filters on the tank. I do weekly 25-35% water changes and I feed them good food. I rotate changing the various types of media in their filters.
Recently , the last 6 months my fish keep getting bacteria infections. Red spots on their fins and left untreated they look like they may die. I use a fungus clear product on them and that seems to clear it up but within a month or so the red spots are back. I have also fed them a medicated food.
My brother says they need a new tank , that they are too big for this tank and that I am abusing them.I love these fish and I try hard to keep them happy. any advice

My black Fancy goldfish has something attached to it! When I first saw it I thought it was ick but wasn't sure as it only had one spot near its gill. When I looked a couple of days later, the white spot had moved! It has moved to near its eye and I swear it looks like it has lots of little legs all around it that are rippling!

It is a new fish that I bought a week ago and I thought the stress of the 'move' may have caused ick.

I have searched on Yahoo and I can't figure out what it might be! I have isolated the fish in it's own bowl as I am worried my other fish will get it too. They seem ok at the moment.

Can anyone shed some light please?

I have a used 75 Gallon Aquarium. It does not have a hood. It does, however, have a wooden stand with cabinets. It also has a few decorations and plants. It has a filter also, that needs one small replacement part. How much should I sell this set for? I need suggestions because I'm not sure how much this type of aquarium runs for. Thanks!

I saw a fish live fish in the pet store and it had "I heart U" on its sides. I wanted to know if their is a website were you can special order one with what u want on it (as long as it fits on the fish). My tank has been set up for 4 months.... the nitrite, nitrate and ammonia are very low and all other contitions are ideal.... for some reason I have many white dots in the water, covering all the water.....

Its 29gal, I have a few plants and about 15 fish 2" or less....

What could that be?
