I have a goldfish and I got a week ago. He is in a very tiny tank and is all by himself. He doesn't look sick but he just not eating. His tank also doesn't have a filter or any electronics or plants, just gravel. Please tell me what is wrong with him, what medicines I can use for him and anything else that is important. Thanks!

i had a gold fish that died a few weeks ago. it swelled up around his gills, like he swollowed something that was too bid. then stuff started coming out of his sides and it was kind of bloody. well. i had a beta in a smaller tank, so i put him in the golf fish tank after it died. now the same thing is happening to him. i put him back in his original tank but he hasn't gotten any better. was it something in the water? i also have snails, like a lot of them. there are probably close to 100 in the gold fish tank, but i don't think they would have anything to do with it.

I think the betas are so pretty, but why do people keep them in a tiny little cup? I think that is mean, or is it?

I bought a larger fish bowl and the glass stones and he looks great in there. He's been blowing bubbles at the top of the bowl. We will be out of town 7 days, will he be ok? The guy at the Petco sugested these tablets especially for Bettas called 7 day feeders, are they ok to use?

By flushing a fish down the toilet?
My fish had this dease for some time, his skin was being eaten up. It got so bad that his mouth sealed up, making it inpossible to eat. So I did the best that I knew to do, and flushed him down the toilet. Well I asked this question to people on here, and they were saying "How Cruel I was" How in-humane" 'how I should of found another way to do it" Like What????? Any other way would made my lil fish suffer worse. I wasnt about to watch my fish starve to death, or decay in a slow agganizing death. People take their pets to be put down by Vets. "how do they know that doesnt hurt"? I simply flushed my fish, & now Im being thrown guilty fish killer!
Please, help me out with this. Be honest in your answers :-)

hi, i have a 55 gallon w/ 1 PLECO,1 knife fish, 1 bala shark,1 catfish,1 dwarf gourami,3 small sunset gouramis, and 4 black tetras. Also, i have a 10 gallon w/ 1 PLECO, and 4tiger barbs.
First my PLECO in my 10 gallon tank began showing symptoms of "weakining" there's no ich or fungus but i've noticed that my white rocks were turning "green" probably algae then i checked my water real quick-(nitrates 20ppm,nitrite-0,alkalinity average,water-hard,and 6.4 PH). However, my pleco died which was 2 days ago after checking the water. Now, my pleco in my 55 gallon showed the same thing, he's weak when i saw him last night, i've had him for more than 6months now. In addition, i've noticed that my pebbles in my 55 gallon were "brownish" and the plastic plants were brownish too, probably algae again. Then, i checked my water-(Nitrates 20ppm,Nitrite 0,Alkalinity-Moderate,Water is Very Hard, and PH is 6.2). Unfortunately my 2nd pleco died unknowingly too. what could have killed them? help me pls.
