As long as you have a good filter and are not over feeding that it is probably just free floating bacteria. The bacteria are what cycle your tank and keep it cycled. Even though your tank is over stocked right now your fish are probably babies so they are OK for a little while. Check this site out, http://kokosgoldfish.com/
They have a great forum and can teach you anything and everything that you will need to know to raise them properly so they can live the 20+ years that they can.

Your tank is overstocked. Baby-juvenile fat fancy goldfish need 10 gallons PER fish (ryukins, fantails, orandas, moors) and baby-juvenile long bodied goldfish need 20 gallons PER fish (comets, commons, shubunkins). The tank needs ALOT of filtration. As someone mentioned, a hang on the back filter is needed. It not only helps keep the water clean but it provides oxygen for the fish. The white cloudyness is nitrifying bacteria establishing themselves and will go away on its own in 3 to 6 weeks. During this time you will have a spike in ammonia, then a spike in nitrites, wich can kill the fish. I suggest doing a 20 percent waterchange every day. And if any fish is acting wierd (sitting on the bottom gasping, gasping at the top, redness around the gills and fins, black spots) then do an immediate partial waterchange. Never ever go past 50 percent and make sure the water is treated with a water conditioner and is the same temp as the water in the tank so you dont shock the fish. Some drinking water companies label tap water as drinking water and it has chemicals in it despite what the label says so it would be wise to use a water condtioner that removes chlorine and chloramines and neutralizes heavy metals. Never use distilled.
You will need a siphon (gravel vacume) when you do a waterchange you will need to vacuum the poop and uneaten food from the gravel. If you dont do routine water changes the dissolved organics in the tank will make the ph drop and the water become acidic and it will eventually kill the fish. You will need to find homes for 3 of the goldfish because goldfish are extremely messy fish and it will be alot more work for you to keep them healthy. Remember goldfish get big 12-14 inches and adults will need atleast 50 gallons per fish and can live for 30 yrs.

By air pump do you mean a filter that hangs on the back or do you mean that thing with the hose attached to an air stone?

Depending on what you're talking about, you need to have a filter on the tank. If it is a filter, it's probably going through the cycle, and that's just a bacteria bloom, which is normal. Don't put any chemicals in to clear the tank, or for the fish. Do use some kind of dechlorinator if you're using tap water, I use Prime by Seachem. As far as the temp, goldfish prefer cool water, so room temperature would be fine, can probably remove the heater. Also, with that many goldfish in that size tank, be sure you do weekly water changes of at least 25% to keep the water parameters in check. Here's a forum, do a search for caring for a fish tank, and cycling a fish tank.

Make sure the water is filtered. I kept the tank cloudless by using a special drop that you put in everytime you clean the tank. You have to pour the drop into the clean new filtered water, while the fish are in another bowl of water. Let it sit there according to the instructions. Go to a pet store and ask for that drop. I'm sorry I forgot the name of it. But I'm sure they'll show it to you once you describe it or let them know it's to maintain the fish tank clean. I used to have 2 goldfish, unfortunately they died because plug of the air pump was mysteriously unplugged. Take care of them fish. It's not easy. Make sure you don't over feed them too. They can't get too full. It's best to ask the pet store customer representative or manager questions about taking care of them.

It could just be that the gravel hasn't settled and there's a lot of free floating food/faecal matter etc you could try and do partial water changes to introduce clean water into the tank but you need to make sure your filter is working correctly and is properly cleaned, also make sure you have three types of medium in your filter, chemical, biological and mechanical...that way you can ensure that all the bacteria is been cleaned. You could also try and get a type of coldwater plec...might help in cleaning your gravel and glass then there could be less algea floating about.

In addition to the filter that came with the tank add a filter that also filters from bottom of the tank it pulls all the feces under the grate at the bottom and leaves the water crystal clear. Also Placaustomas ( "algae eater") fish eat the algae ect..they help too.

you haven't presented guidance on filtration, tanksize, or the quantity of fish contained in the tank. Goldfish want 10 gallons in line with fish as they are messy fish. they are undemanding to save yet they are messy eaters and placed out extreme waste. Waste is not in basic terms from urine and feces yet also by their gills even as they "exhale". in the adventure that they are small, you'll have some in a smaller tank yet do not save them there. that is going to stunt them which motives damage to their inner organs and immune equipment and could significantly shorten their lifespan. next...in case you do not have a clear out, GET ONE. Get a good, sturdy one. ideally a draw close on the business corporation capacity clear out or a canister clear out in case you are able to arise with the money for one. do not overfeed. Fish want in basic terms be fed somewhat two times an afternoon. some human beings even pass an afternoon thoroughly once per week or so. 0.33: new tank syndrome. We now call this biking. Your new tank with clean (dechlorinated obviously) water is a sparkling slate. once you upload a fish or 2, they commence putting ammonia into the water. Ammonia is poisonous to fish. it really is at its optimal at about the a million week aspect. At this aspect, once you've a clear out, a clean micro organism referred to as nitrite varieties to devour the ammonia. it really is likewise poisonous yet not as right away. Ammonia burns eyes, fins, gills, and so on. Nitrite interferes with the fish's absorption of oxygen. Nitrites proceed to be for about 3 weeks. Then a clean micro organism varieties colonies referred to as nitrate. At 30 ppm or a lot less, this micro organism is nice and could devour up the nitrites once they type. Your tank is cycled. With weekly water differences (back, the quantity relies upon on what number fish you've in a how huge a tank), you'd be skimming correct alongside :) Cloudy water might want to be decaying uneaten fish nutrients, micro organism bloom (area of the biking) or an algae bloom. large water differences without touching the clear out help at this aspect contained in the game. desire this helps.

you have to change the water and boil the rocks (if you have them) regularly. you also need a good filter. i am not sure about chemicals. i do not use them. as for the temperature. fish are cold blooded. they will be lathargic if the water is too cold.
