I am not so quick to recommend cleaning your tank, so fast before knowing how old your tank set up is and what the water conditions are.
Ick is indeed a parasite; I am going to recommend a natural inexpensive treatment that we use in the field and in the industry. Raw minced garlic right out of the spice section of your grocery store, and Aquarium salt both it works wonders and has extra added benefits for your fish, weather fresh, coldwater or brackish. It will also stop the spread. Plus one thing that folks normally don’t know is if you have catfish, or loch, eels, tetras, any scale less fish, most treatment you buy from the store (printed right there on the bottle) warn you of treatment with these type of fishes, as it will often, it will hurt them, or kill them. The treatment on the market can often make your fish so sick, weaken its immunity system so much; they end up dying from the treatment itself of the parasite.
To stop Ick the best thing is to fully understand what it is and how it works, thus staying one step ahead of it at all times.
Ick/Ich is always present in your tank, in your fish and will attack at any stressful moment….well personally I have found no scientific data to support this theory, however at this point it’s neither here or there. Just know that Stress is the main cause of Ick/Ich. Your fish can get stressed as a result of many things. I have found that Ick/Ich seems to show up most often when a new fish is introduced to your tank, why because the fish at the store are under allot of stress. They have left their happy home, been transported to a new environment, then you buy them, transport them again and put them in another new environment, all within usually a matter of a few days(Yikes). So be prepared each time you buy a new fish but Even if you follow quarantine procedures you may at some point acquire an infected fish, which should be treated before being introduced into your main aquarium. The good news is that if handled correctly, this disease can be easily and permanently eliminated.
I’m sure by now, you are aware as to how it looks and what signs are there when it’s about to come up, so I’ll skip all of that (smile).
My simple suggestions are this…
Raise the temp and kill them with heat. Ick/Ich has a longer lifespan in cooler temps. Raising the heat will speed this up, thus killing them off. Salt and Garlic your tank, and please no more cleaning for a while as it may be the very cause of your problem. If your tank is new it needs proper time to cycle out, if you are cleaning it often, you are causing it to continue this process over and over and over again. If you want to hurry the cycling process along.. Get some wonderful helpful beneficial bacteria. I prefer and Use CYCLE and again since it will not hurt my fish.. I buy a bottle once a week and guess what, LOL that’s right, dump the whole bottle in, it will work wonders.
And never ever add more then two new fish to your tank at a time.
I hope all of us have helped in some form or fashion. I love keeping fish and I want others to love it as well. It really is enjoyable.

Ich is a parasite, and will definitely spread to your other fish. You do not need to empty the tank, but keep treating the tank water with the meds. I would treat until there are no visible signs (ich appears as small white speckles all over the body and fins) and three days more. Keep up on water changes and everything should be ok.

four gallon of water per inch of fish is the rule for setting up a tank this allows space for them to find there own territory and room to grow also en ought oxygen as they ex hail carbon witch stays in the water for along time also have an under gravel filter this makes friendly bacteria to digest waste you should start with a twenty gallon tank if you want to keep fish don't be fobbed off with cheep novelty tanks you should have a heater this keeps the water constant tropicals like 80 to 83 degrees & gold fish dont mind

one of the things that you can do to help with ich is to put some aquarium salt (not table salt. chemical structure is the same, but the aquarium salt is not processed in the same way as table salt), and raise the temperature a few degrees. Seachem makes what I call a "shotgun" cure called paraguard which helps with many different types of problems if you are not sure what you have. A stronger chemical that I only recommend if you know what you have is melafix. It is VERY strong, and not for use by amateurs.

If you don't have any other fish, I would drain it clean everything in it with diluted bleach and rinse extremely well. Then fill with water and let it sit for at least 7 days. I would get a water testing kit also and test your waters ph levels. A lot of drops you put in tanks mess with your waters ph and akaline levels.

I would buy a small plastic tank to keep your other fish in for about a week and scrub out your other tank.
