always do your research on the fish you have or want and remember the better the water the healthier the fish fish are fine in an aquarium as long as you are treating them good (good water, not over feeding etc..)

I've been in an aquarium and I've lived in the open sea. Don't let these jailers fool you. We know and understand the difference. I remember life on the reef, and quite frankly it was scary at times. More than once, I was very nearly someones supper or afternoon snack. In the aquarium, I'm well fed and don't have to worry about being eaten. just don't let you little brother tap on the glass. Okay?

A clean, roomy tank is enough to kill their boredom. Just remember to figure out what kind of fish you are keeping. If it's a shoaling fish try to purchase atleast many fishes to form a small school of its kind.
There are also fish that need more female of it's kind or fishes that doesn't need a tank mate. Ask the pet shop owner to tell you if the fish is a community-fish or if it will killl its tank mate.
Happy fish keeping.

First of all they are born in captivity. Second of all they have instinks that tell them that they will have to fend for themselves. Third of all they have a great memory, every morning around 8am when i first get up they are waiting for food.

They occupy themselves trying to find food, make sure they have plants and rocks in to swim around to keep happy.

nah.. i don't think so. fish eggs are laid in a large group, that is as much as a hundred at one time. if they do have the feelings like we do, they won't even recognize their brothers.. maybe they'll even end up marrying their own sister!
as long as they are well fed, they won't be dying of boredom.. it's what nature are..
