Play sand will be suited, that's what I extremely have in my tank. you'll elect to enable is soak in a bucket of water and then later very gently enable water flow through it to get rid of any dirt debris to shop the filter out from clogging up. the in hardship-free words situation with sand is that gas can boost in it with out it being adjusted often, and this may kill the fish. i like to recommend getting snails to assist shift the sand, those with the cone formed shell do the ultimate in my journey.

Nope, you'll be fine with it. Actually some might prefer it, esp. the pleco.
I put blue playsand in my tropical fish tank.
You have to wash it...and wash it...and wash it...at least until the water runs clear. Make sure you don't add the sand while the filter is running or there are fish in it.
actually, here's a site that was very helpful for me:

Sand is fine... most fish live in sandy conditions but in aquariums it's tricky because it doesn't offer the same bio-filtration benefits like gravel since it's much denser and doesn't allow circulation. You just have to clean the detritus/poop waste sitting on top of the sand more often.

It could. Instead you should just use something that you can buy for your fish at the pet store, like little pebbles, marbles, or something else. It would probably be helpful to ask the person who works at the pet store.

Bring on the sand, I have black sand in all my tanks
Just be careful not to add crushed coral sand, as it will raise your ph levels and keep them raised.
