it is either a 50 gal or 55, i can't remember, i bought it at wal-mart 4 yrs ago.

If you bought it at walmart, it's probably the standard 55 gallon.

Here is a useful tool for finding out the capacity of your tank. All you do is enter the dimensions (length, width, and height), choose the units of measurement, and then hit "Calculate Tank Volume".

Finding out the capacity can also be done manually with a calculator, but I find that this tool is much easier and faster. There is also less of chance there will be some sort of caluculation error.

OK measure inside the tank, height, length, and depth (in inches)
Multiply all three measurements together
divide by 231 to get the number of gallons.

if it's 48 in long, its a 55

good news... Walmart only carry small size tanks, kids tanks, and 10, 20, and 55.

length times width times depth times 7.5 will give you gallons. Or go to walmart and see if they have one like it.
