When I was a kid I had a pet goldfish one day I brought home a friend for him and put him in the bowl the next day when it was
time to feed the fish I discovered that the first goldfish ate the new guy guess he didn't like the company?! lol.

Are there certain goldfish you can't mix?! I think he was a beta.

He met an unfortunate fate when my Mom flushed him down
the toilet she said he was stinky.

i have a new fishtank, of which i have not stocked yet, reasons are that the water hasnt quite got to safe nitrate/nitrite levels yet..but i have noticed these really tiny white organisms jittering about, where have these come from, or what are they..have done two 75% water changes for the record!

My fish are all O.K, there tropical and are real strong. At one point i was cleaning my tank with hot water, and then white spurs or white color was apearing on my tank. I tried my best to clean it but it wont come off, i cant even anything from there ( i didnt put them back in). If you know any soap or liquids to put on it, and make it "see-through" again, please let me know. Thank you

I have a usually pretty active betta fish that needs help. last week I put him into a small bowl so i could clean the big tank and he still seemed active but played dead once, very hard to get him up and swimming. Yesterday the tank was fully cleaned, watered and conditioned so he went in and was enjoying all the space. later, I noticed he was keeping his head in the gravel. late in the night I went to feed him and noticed he wasn't coming up. I tried to get his attention by moving the net around his tail. he wasn't darting off as usual just slowly swimming away. then I noticed two large white spots on his head. not like a bubble but like a tear in his skin with white cotton underneath. I woke today to find him on his side at the bottom of the tank and his right eye had at least doubled in size but he isn't dead. 1: white spot on head; 2 &3: big eye; Picture: http://images6.theimagehosting.com/peterhelp.jpg

I have game fish that I keep (yes legally you Nazi Geeks!) and I am wondering if there are various risks that even putting feeders in quarantine for a month will not solve. Anyone currently quarantining feeders? and if so how long do you keep them in quarantine for before feeding them to your main fish?

I have been feeding my four fishes tetracolor flakes for three-four years when i got them. I finally ran out of fish food so I got the tetrafin fish flakes, i thought they were the same thing so when I tried to feed the fishes they would get the food but then spit the food out. Only the gold fish ate the food. How do I make the other fishes eat it?

I have a fairly small aquarium and I cleaned it yesterday. All I have in the aquarium are 4 tetras and an upsidedown catfish. The catfish always stays in the little cave I have in there, but it was really nasty, and I threw it away yesterday.( I was going to buy a new one today) The catfish is about 3 inches long.
This morning,,,, the catfish is GONE. There's no way he could have jumped out.
Could those 4 little tetras have eaten him??? It doesnt seem possible.

Hi, I have a $34 fish tank from Petcetra and I have three kinds of gold fish in it. The tank comes with a pump but it does not keep it clean. Can you buy bigger pumps so that you dont have to clean you tank every week.
