I want to get a bigger aquarium. I do not want to have to get rid of it when I move to an apartment or rental house. What size aquarium do apartments and rental houses generally accept without charging like a 350 dollar pet fee? One gallon...five....ten...twenty...fifty....one hundred....two hundred? I am from Texas if that helps anyone. Thanks for the help.

Do they live as long?

Are they as easy to take care of?

Are they more picky with food?

Do they need bigger tanks?

And my betta is not supposed to be a Crowntail, but his tail looks like a Crowntail's, which is spiky at the end, just not as spiky as a regular crowntail. Could he be half Crowntail? No, he doesn't have fin rot, he looks half-crowntail. Is this normal? IS HE half-crowntail? And answer my other questions please?

Tell me about crowntails help me

I have 2 small (1 inch long) gold fish in an 20 gallon fish tank, i usualy have my music really REALLY loud and i was wondering if this hurt my goldfish in anyway, i heard once that goldfish dident have any nerves so if this is true, would the sound vibrations confuse the fish instead of hurt them?

I have 2 aquariums, my big tank, 33 gallons is cold water and my 20 gallon tank is warm water. Any suggestions what other possibilities I can put in with my goldfish? Also what sorts of warm water fish are hardy enough for my smaller tank? Any help would be great.

My goldfish has sunk to the bottom of the tank.It swims to the top to eat and then it sinks to the bottom and stays there till next feed time. Is there a reason for this?

I went to feed my fish tonight and found my dwarf gourami laying on the bottom of the tank dead. I had checked on them earlier and everyone looked fine. So I was unsure what the problem could be. I did all my water tests (liquid kind) and they came out as follows:

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 2ppm
pH 7.8

Its a 55 gallon tank with plastic plants that was set up around the first of July. It had "cycled."

Other fish in the tank are:

3 Zebra danios
6 tiger barbs
4 angelicus loaches

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the barbs pestering the gourami. They chased him a few times when I first added them but hadn't messed with him since.

I'm really anxious to figure out the problem and solve it before I lose anymore fish. I love all my fish but I'd especially hate to lose my loaches as they were $20 a pop.

Any ideas of what the problem could be and/or what I should do to make sure I don't lose any more?

I have had my 20 gallonn aquarium running for about 50 hours now. I washed the gravel and everything, so I don't know. I heard from others that it's some kind of bacteria... which is usual for a new aquarium. How soon should it go away, and will it hard my 3 long finned danios I have in there, helping to speed up the cycling process?

I started a fish tank several months ago. It is a 16gallon tank, and I've had it evaluated by several proffesionals who all say that my filter, aeration, etc. are just what they should be. I had a pretty bad ammonia spike, but that's under control now... and my fish just keep dying.
2 of them did the thing where they lay in the gravel gasping and swimming sideways.
1 died looking perfectly healthy, and then an hour later, plastered to the filter intake.
1 was nothing but a skeleton when I found him, so I think he may have been murdered.
1 disappeared entirely. No idea what happened to him.
1 got really skinny before he died.

It's like it's never the same thing killing them? I don't understand what's going on. Can anybody help? I've lost rosy barbs, gouramis, algae eaters, and ornamental crabs, and they've been from 3 separate stores.
