My ADF is bloated and has red sores on her head, back, and legs. I am currently using penicillin and keeping her quarantine tank very clean and filled with spring water. Has anyone had success in curing their ADF of this problem? If so, please let me know how you did it. Also, does anyone know of any vets or herpetologists in the southern Michigan area that will treat ADFs?

His lips look very swollen and very red with white puss on the tips. He has also lost some color in his fins. At the tip of his back fin, it's starting to turn black. What can I do to heal him? He can't even eat because his lips are so big.

One goldfish, one tank and the water is almost always less than transparent. I wanted to put plants in but the fish shop guy said a goldfish would eat them within days so I got three plastic plants instead. I put in a new filter last week, replacing the original that came with the Biorb six months ago, but, if anything, the colour if the water is even worse.

I'm setting up a 125 gallon freshwater aquarium. This is the biggest aquarium i'm ever had. It came with an under gravel filter but it seems alot of people don't like them anymore. I was looking at an eheim pro II canister filter, is that a good bet? what if i used BOTh an under gravel AND a canister filter? What about wet/dry filters and UV sterilizers?

He starting by spiting out his food . sometimes he runs around the 1 galon aquarium and jumps a little bit out opening his mouth. other times he stays still hiding on the bottom or under a live plant .Recently I noticed a small swelling behind his left eye and he seems he is tilting a little bit on that site. What can I do to save him? If you know what i can do please answer me asap. Thanks

CAn fish learn good vs bad behavior. Can you "ground" fish to teach them not to nip at other fish or exhibit aggressive behavior?

when waking my son up this morning, i noticed that all but 2 of his fish had died overnight. (he had molly's, danios, an algae eater and a goldfish). they were all fine just yesterday. the only thing i can think of is that recently i noticed a few pieces of 'fools gold' rocks in the bottom . my son is notorious for putting his 'pretty rocks' in the tank, regardless of my yelling at him to NOT put anything in the tank.
could a few pieces of pyrite kill the entire aquarium?? what about quartz? or any other kinds of stone? any idea would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a new entrant to the wonders of the world of aquariums. I've just set up my tank and had it running with plants and gravel in it for the last three weeks. I was told by the aquarium shop that I needed to leave the water for two weeks before adding fish - which I have done - yet when I tested the nitrate levels yesterday, they were still way too high. I've had the filter buzzing away for the last three weeks and have added the suggested liquids to the water. So.... I'm pretty confused as to what I now need to do in order to get the nitrate levels down. Please help!!!

I have a 10 gallon tank with, well too much fish in it, like about 20 various tetras(i forgot about the inch:gallon rule for fish tanks, but oh well this is not what i am talking about right now I know I need to get another tank and will soon) anyways, like I said I want to get a water testing kit or whatever they have to test the levels of amonia/nitrate/nitrite/ph. Is there one kit to test all of that? I just got my tank about 9 days ago, about what levels should that all be at right now? what do I do if they are all too high? thanks for your info all....... and how long normally until the tank is cycled?
