Males zebra cichlids are larger, have stronger and more obvious egg-spots, and will develop a hump on the forehead with age.

cichlids are very difficult to sex, and sometimes you can't find out until they show you! but if you have alot of them, you can tell by the length and shape of the fins. the longer, prettier fins are usually male. male tend to be a little bigger, and the females have egg spots.
