My ADF is bloated and has red sores on her head, back, and legs. I am currently using penicillin and keeping her quarantine tank very clean and filled with spring water. Has anyone had success in curing their ADF of this problem? If so, please let me know how you did it. Also, does anyone know of any vets or herpetologists in the southern Michigan area that will treat ADFs?

Do me a favor and drop a line over at the message boards (specifically, the Emergency Room board) at Flippers and Fins - there are quite a few ADF experts over there that will gladly help you nurse him back to health. They're going to ask you about your water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, temperature, etc), as well as any possible stressors and changes in behavior, so if possible, either test your water or have it tested. Just out of curiosity, how long have you had this frog?

EDIT: Aquarium salt is not good for bloat - if anything, that should worsen it. Epsom salt would be better. However, some frogs are sensitive to salt, so no salt would probably be the best route to go at this point.

Mac's good when it comes to walk-throughs with the whole aspiration process, so if you do need to aspirate, he'll be there to help you out. I've, personally, never had to aspirate any of my guys, but I know if I ever have to where to turn.

JBOT brought up an interesting point about red leg, however, from the sites I'm reading, it doesn't seem to be good stuff. More info:

Follow up with the guys at FnF. I'll pass on these links to them as well.

Again, so sorry to hear about Romena. Good luck.
