of course the puppy keep needs you to apply aquarium salt on your tank! they are attempting to sell you the salt! you do not prefer salt for freshwater fish. And aquarium salt isn't any diverse or extra valuable than the sea salt you will get interior the food market for some million/3 the cost. you need to use any previous salt that's not iodized. All salt does is stimulate the growth of the fish's slime coat. A fish's slime coat aids its organic immune gadget, so salt can help to speed restoration from ailment or heal wounds, even nonetheless it is not probable needed for every day use in an aquarium. to boot, stay vegetation, shrimp and scaleless fish do not respond nicely to salt. it is going to additionally kill snails. Your tank is in simple terms too small for a gold fish. Even a fancy gold fish would desire to have a minimum of 20 gallons to be fairly healthful and comfortable. otherwise they finally end up stunted and loss of life early deaths as their outsides end growing to be yet their inner organs proceed to advance. Goldfish can stay as much as 20 years, yet puppy goldfish oftentimes basically stay 2-5 years because of cramped situations.

Gad...why don't you set up the tanks first, so you don't kill them when you dump them into a sterile tank??

A good pet shop with have what you want for the rest of it, but they will tell you the same thing I just did. Take your time, get the tank going & get it ready for them first.
Especially a salt tank...did you think you could just add table salt & it would be done?
