I have a female betta who is about ready to explode with eggs. I have both male and female in a 10 gallon tank, shallow water, plants, the whole deal. but she shows no interest what so ever in my male. I have fed her quite well, shes in good shape, but isnt receptive. i've looked all over the internet for answers, but have found none. this pretty much is my last resort, can anyone help me? and please, real answers only. thanks a lot!

I rescued a pair of fantail goldfish from a friend's tank about a year and a half ago. They're currently in a 10-gal tank, and have always gotten along very well - no nipping, chasing, etc. I was away for 3 days and one of the fish has had his tail completely eaten away. The other fish (identical in size) has never been aggressive before; now, he won't leave the injured fish alone long enough for it to heal. The situation is only getting worse, and it's not really practical to separate them - I've recently bought a 20-gal tank for them, and having a single fish in it seems ridiculous. Would the extra space do anything to help the situation? I'm just so frustrated and disgusted with them I'm ready to give up on them altogether and just get rid of the tank completely. I'm moving into a new place, and really wanted to take them with me, but the constant chasing is extremely upsetting to watch. Any advice?

Hi,

Recently my fish has been acting up. He is a 1 year old oscar, about 7 inches long. He does not have pit-face like commonly seen in oscars. He's been laying on the bottom of the tank all morning. His eyes are foggy but he can still track my movement. Just recently he's been VIOLENTLY darting around the tank running into the glass, mostly trying to jump out of the water. He's already broken the lid of the tank, and his face is all messed up. he has calmed down now but is going from floating on top on his side to laying back on the bottom calmly. I need help ASAP please.

I bought the fish as a present for my wife's birthday and she would be heart broken if he died.

i have a fish tank and i've noticed all the neons swim together, the plecs do, the clown fish do. How do they know that they look the same and are the same species? Do they realise their reflections? or give off some chemical to their own kind? they must be more clever than people think!

large goldfish, and small. 20 gallon tank, snails, water changed monthly. I feed them 3 times a day, as much as they can eat in 5 minutes. Otherwise tank is very healthy, and the water is very clear.
