The foam can be caused by a lot of things, hard water and a lot of organic matter in the water are the most common problems. If it doesn't turn slightly brown it is probably from hard water. If you are using tap water, switch to bottled spring. If the foam is a little discolored, you may be feeding too much or have some of your plants' leaves decaying in the water and causing the foam.

Not too sure what your question is here. Do you mean you have a lot of bubbles at the top water of your tank? Or are you talking about foam cartridges for filters?

it obviuosly means that the fish is pregnant and is just making a bubble nest for the eggs. make sure to get plants for the tank so she can easily lay and put the eggs attached on the plants. after giving birth then take the fish away from the eggs, as she will probaly eat them. and the male makes the bubble nest. if you only have 1 then nobody is pregnant. and if thats the case then get him a female coz this means its breeding time again. if you have a female about to give birth turn of filter. good luck.

Generally, unless you've got a male betta, foam indicates bad water quality. You should test you ammonia, and nitrate levels.
