The males have pointed anal fins, the females have rounded anal fins. The anal fin is the fin just in front of their anal opening.

Females are usually a little larger and heavier than the males too, even before becoming pregnant.

Don't forget, mollies are brackish water fishes and need salt in their water. Use about one teaspoon of salt per gallon of water for mollies. That is too much for regular tropicals, so if you have other species of fish in that same tank, only use about a tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons.

8 in the corner is correct. We have even kept Mollies in a salt water aquarium with other salt water fish. It cool and flips people out. Without salt they do have problems.

well you can tell the females from the males by watching real close....the females will keep nagging the other fish(males) thats how you tell lol
