do i need a net to catch the babies when they fall out or is aquatic grass enough i have it covered on the top

I find having a lot of plants in the tank work really well. The fry hide out in it and eat it as well. Since thy don't have to come out for food, they stand a better chance of surviving. Unless you have enough tank space to support the bio-load of a full batch of fry surviving and maturing, I wouldn't bother with a breeding net.

not many fry will survive with just breeder grass..i would recommend gettin a breeder net and taking momma out once she has the babies..or what is even easier is getting a nursery so the babies can be safely seperating from the mom and other fish

You can buy a "nursery" where, when you see momma getting really fat, you put her in the top of this contraption, and babies drop down to the bottom part. Babies are so tiny, you'd never catch them in a net- if you did, I think the net would scratch their little bodies all up.
