ive been trying to get java moss cant find any locally so i took some moss from my mothers outdoor koi pond its bright green and very similar looking to java moss,i have put this in the tank with my guppies will this be suitable for fry while i wait on my java moss?

yes have 4 gravid female fancy tails have a couple of artificial lillies,some type od bog wart from local pet store and some apongton sprouting from bulbs,added moss to tank ,it floats so was told the fry would be able to hide in it,not sure of the type,but my mom has been growing it in her ponds and the koi and goldfish love it ,so i put a piece about the size off a small saucer covers roughly a third of the tanks surface.

Sounds like you are doing well, but watch out for any of the plants dying off in your tank. Decaying plant material will quickly cause you water problems that will sicken the guppies.

If you are having problems finding Java Moss I would suggest going to this site and just order yourself some - they have low-light starter paks...
