Fish - June 2006

Just started my tank about a month ago. I have four fish in the 10 gallon tank. Use cycle, ammno quel, a conditioner and have done a 10% water change every week. My ammonia tested high the other day and I added an ammonia pack filter to my carbon and element filter pack. I also have an undergravel filter ....so what else can i do? Will the ammonia drop? Is this just a spike? Any ideas welcome

I need to get a bigger tank? and why did they sell me osar's for 10 gal. dont they know they get big i didnot . i want a 55 gal. but my bf said no not now $$ so i have to wait then my son get sold two osars i read up on them after their home to find this?? what to do?

is this some sort of disease or did he eat a rock or something . he is swimming on his side with the knot up like it hurts to stay down he floats to the top. knot side up

I just bought hardy water lilies and put them in my pond. I put them on my first shelf which is about 18" deep and the whole lilly is submerged, even the top pads. is this ok?

I am thinking of breeding Oscars! From some people I hear it is easy, from others they reccomend not doing it. But I want to do something with fish and breeding. I think I'd like a couple 2-3 inch Red Oscars to start out in a 30 gallon tank and possibly move into a future 120 gallon tank my mom might get me for my B-day. I'm 13 years old but am not an amature fish breeder. For about 1 year, I bred guppies/platies/mollies and then I bred snails, then I wanted to breed my two Chiclids together, but before I could get to it, my rare Goby fish decided to take a bite out of life!

So, I need some info on Red Oscar breeding! I know how big they get, what they eat, what their tank should be like, and more. I just need some info about BREEDING. if you want 10 points. Thanks for helping!

Would you think it was neglect that caused a fighter fish to die after being in someone's care for only 2 weeks? I had to travel and left it with a friend only to be told that it had died. I had the fish for almost a year. Neglect or Natural?
