Why does my pair of red blood parrot fishes produce hundreds of unfertilized eggs?

The male fish would eat all the aggs after two days of guarding them.

Parrot fish are a man made fish. The Male Parrot was made sterile, so he wont beable to fertilize the eggs. I bred my parrot with a large adult Convict Cichlid, and have raised about 6 different batches of babies. From what I understand, it was purpously done this way for parrots not to reproduce with one another. And incase you were wondering, and parrot fish is half severim, and half red devil=)

you need a male fish and not 2 females
