Yes they do, one of those normal round tanks they have on tv and stuff with goldfishes inside dont work. They need this bubble oxygen thing that you need to get at a pet store it gives them oxygen because if the water doesnt move at all no air will go in and fish will die, fishes need air too but they take it from bubbles under water. You should ask the people at the pets stores to help you out with what to get.

No they don't. The bubbly things i think are a typical aripump and airstone. It's unecessary as long as you have good filtration and surface aggitation. The bubbles are only there to disturb the surface of the water allowint 02 in andC02 out.

If you have a bowl, you're cruel. Fancy goldfish need roughly 15 gallons of water each. And unless you have a huge aquarium, ie: around 1000 gallons, commons should be in ponds. I'm not sure how u stock those, but i'd say more thatn 50 gallons for a heavy waste producing, heavy oxygen intaking, 30" goldfish

It all depends on the size of your tank and the size of your fish. If the tank is big enough or the goldfish small enough, then you don't need an aerator.

An aerator provides water circulation more than oxygen directly! Water circulation keeps the "stale" water at the bottom circulating to the top for refresh of oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide. This is good for any fish.

They can go with out the bubbly thing. Just do a half water change ever 7 days to keep the water oxygenated.

If your filter does enough surface agitation then they don't need one. Oxygen gets into the water from the surface, so a bubble wand doesn't actually put the oxygen in the water it just breaks the surface to allow the oxygen to enter.

It can't hurt.

This is where I go on my standard speech that your tank is probably too small. Goldfish need about 50 gallons each, even if they're small now. They'll grow, trust me, and are some of the dirtiest fish as far as waste production.

Goldfish can go without. but make sure to do partial water changes every once in a while depending on the size of the goldfish.

Mine go without and they are doing fine. I change the water about once a week. The bowl is about a half gallon.

it all depends on if you have a tank with an oxygenator and a filter in it other than that they can go without anything else
