From what i have seen in my parrots, the male usually has longer, flared fins. The female will be more round in the gut area compared to others. Don't be fooled if you see a little tube protruding out near the anal are either, because both male and female have a similar tube, one for laying eggs, and the make to spray the eggs.

look for the egg spots on the anal fin thats the male most fish have this

it isn't not common, even if i am going to objective to convince you no longer that one. a million. its hybrid (guy-made) 2. rather aggressive 3. calls for enormous tank. in case you pick aggressive fish you are able to try eco-friendly terror (truly aggressive one) or in case you're searching for colourful try paradise fish or rainbow fish. good success!
