2 hours after I had given her some shredded roasted chixn and rice. Could she have eaten too much? I gave her just about 1/3 cup of the table food. She was OK and played for awhile after. BUT, everytime when the play got hard, she would start to cough and gag and sometimes have to up-chuck but doesn't quite get out of her mouth. Every other hour I can see/hear her coughing and gagging. Sounds serious so I am contemplating taking her to the vet soon. Any words of advice besides do not feed her table food.

Mine listens when someone speaks on the phone and for more than a few minutes she listens attentively. If my mom is speaking on the other line she makes distinct noises and listens attentively. I was amazed, moved and pleasantly shocked! ;)

We have a black lab that we rescued as a puppy, who almost died from parvo, and my wife and son nursed it back to health. It recently bit my son when he and I were wrestling. He won't bite me hard no matter what. Yesterday he tried to jump on me, and I grabbed his paw and wouldn't let go - he would not bite me, no matter how long I held on.

He also won't try to enter the house when I'm at the door, but with others, he will run in given the chance.

Am I crazy with my 'alpha male' theory ?

My girlfriend's parents have a fat, disobedient labrador. Its only goal in life seems to be to get as much food in as it can.

On walks, It somehow manages to find discarded burgers and sandwiches, and because its so hefty, my girlfriend/her mum can't pull the thing away in time.

Coupled with this, it can't be stroked without its stinking wet tongue slobbering all over your arms. It also wheezes when it gets excited.

What can be done to control this fat B*stard dog?

we dont want to put our heating on cos of fleas.

at the moment we are sitting with blankets and everything and dont want to put it on in case it causes them to come out in their hundreds.

we've been treating our house and dog since september yet we think we may still have them, we see them ococassionally

we are using frontline on dog but he still bites? (its deifnately fleas)

weve sprayed perimtihn into carpets, hoovered, flea powdered.

we didnt see them for a while, obvilusly we cant go on without the heating its unbearable!!

i want to put it on but dont know what to do now as we are not using any products now (they ran out)

i dont know whether to clean the carpets then use a new spray called skoosh which traps them in a sticky silicone.

or to just spray BEFORE putting the heating on (the spray coats the eggs so they cant hatch supposedly)

trouble is we dont know if there any/ how many eggs there are in the carpets?

please can anyone advice

I truely think its sad that people respond the way they do to certain questions. Liek when some one come son here and asks for help b/c their dog is pregnant and all some people can do is answer by saying, get your dog spayed, your a bad person and you had time to look it up etc. Thats not what they are asking, they are asking for our help. And help is what they should get not critizism. I'm sure that they feel bad already you don't need to make in worse. And how do you not know that it was an accident, maybe they had booked an appointment to get their dog spayed and then they got out and got pregnant? Seriously though I think if you aren't going to actually answer the question then why say anything at all? Some people really need to be nicer. And I'm sure karma is knocking on those people's doors for them not being so kind to others.

Have him flown in for an additional 250 dollars. OR Drive 11 hours one way (22 hours all together) to pick him up?

Additional Info: Puppy is 5 weeks so I have 3 weeks to figure this out..., a Saint Bernard, and most of the driving will be through mountains.

I have a little toy chiuahuah shes almost 3 years old and shes been bred once, the birth went great, she had 5 and only one died at birth (another died at 21/2 months) she did so well and for her first time she did everything right. But she had her dog period for like 3 months straight and ive have a lot of people say I prolly shouldnt let her get preg again, but I wanna breed her. I dont wanna lose her incase they are right, a few said its safe enough that she did so well shed be fine too but I dont know, I am not willing to risk her life because shes my baby and im so attached to her, but having the pups around was so wonderful and ide love to do it again. any breeders, vets, professtionals w/ a professional idea or opinion that can help me out with what would be best?

Can you tell me about chihuahuas? Are they easy to take care of? How much do they shed? Just give me some of the basics. Thank you, and maybe some tips will help! I might be getting a chihuahua!

Our 8 year old chihuahua has had a few episodes where she looses her balance poops in place, pees on herself & vomits all at the same time. Its very scary because she freaks out, eyes pop out and she has these noises that seem like shes in so much pain. Is this brought up from food, stress...?

I went to the store, and they had some great value hot dogs on sale for $1.14 for 40 hot dogs.
My dog has been sick, so I bought 80 hot dogs to stuff his pills in and make him do tricks.
Is this a bad idea? He loves them. He will do anything to get a slice of hot dog.

On very rainy or very windy days I have to stay in the house with my puppy (7 months, lab). He and I are always bored together and we end up watching TV or sleeping. What can I do to make him less bored? I always take him for a daily 1 hour walk at the same time. At around the same time I'm suppose to take him for a walk, he get excited and hyper. But I can't take him out because its really windy or pouring outside. He ends up bothering the whole family. Should I take him outside anyways, despite the weather, or stay inside? (On very windy days, I'm allergic to the dust being blown around.)

My chihuahua seems to be unbalanced...when he's just sitting there his head sways back and fourth and then he starts to tip over. He doesn't do it all the time. One day he will...and then he'll go a while, like days, without doing it again. He seems very sad...I don't know what to do? Anybody have any clues on what i should do..or what's going on?
