Was he possibly bit or stung by something while you were on your walk? Sounds like that might be a possibility. If the swelling is bad, it could affect his breathing. Your vet would be able to advise you the best course of action. Also, until you can see the vet, you might want to try giving your dog a benadryl. Dosage depends on the size of your dog. Your vet can suggest the correct dosage.

When you took him to the park, he may have been stung or bitten by something, and is now having a severe allergic reaction to it. Don't wait any longer to go to the vet, GO NOW, if you have not already gone. If parts of his throat are swelling, it's only a matter of time, that the throat, will totally close up, and he will stop breathing. He actually should have been taken to the vet, the minute you noticed the swelling. I hope he's ok and everything works out for the best! Good Luck!

This sounds like what happened to my 5 year old boxer! We cleaned our carpets and she must have gotten her paws wet from the cleaner and started licking her paws! I noticed her muzzle swelling and throat swelling so I got the emergency vet on the phone - They told me to immediately give her 2 benadryl, (DOSE IS DIFFERENT WITH EVERY DOG) Because we lived at least 45 minutes away, she would not have made it!! Within about 30 minutes the swelling was gone completely and she never had to go to the vet!! From then on, we put our dogs up when we clean our carpets!!!!!

Its better to be safe than sorry - GET STRAIGHT TO THE VET!!!!! It sounds like your dog may have come into contact with something and may be having a severe reaction, it sounds like some kind of shock. Your dogs body is fighting to defend off microbes or toxins. Depending of the severity of the reaction or pathogenicity of the bug/poison It is probable that if the swelling continues your dogs respiratory pathways may become blocked resulting in difficulty breathing, irreverisble cellular injury and death.

The best answer is take him to the vet.

I would first try benedril. but you must be sure you have the right dosage. My dog had a thorn in her mouth and she swelled up. We found it. Are you looking to see with a flash light what may be inside the dogs jewels?
best of luck..Hey if you can afford a vet go. man I love my dogs but some of the time we have to ad lib.

I would take your dog to the vet ASAP. He may start to have breathing problems next. If you even you have to go to an ER Vet!!!

Take him to the vet. Could be an allergic reaction or an infection. In either case, it wont go away by itself.

He's had an allergic reaction to something. He could've gotten stung by a bee. You can give him children's benadryl, but you may have to take him to the vet for a shot.

ask the vet but he probably got stung by something and will be fine without care, ask the vet anyway.
