On very rainy or very windy days I have to stay in the house with my puppy (7 months, lab). He and I are always bored together and we end up watching TV or sleeping. What can I do to make him less bored? I always take him for a daily 1 hour walk at the same time. At around the same time I'm suppose to take him for a walk, he get excited and hyper. But I can't take him out because its really windy or pouring outside. He ends up bothering the whole family. Should I take him outside anyways, despite the weather, or stay inside? (On very windy days, I'm allergic to the dust being blown around.)

no don't take him outside if it pouring out side if it windy thats ok, but sence ur allergic to dust another family member could play with him, another idea is playing tug-a-war in a nonglass area, or teaching him tricks for treats.

good luck with a lab i know how hyper they get but there really good dogs.

Take him outside anyhow.. He is a dog, he has a coat that protects him from the weather.. Our dogs love the rain and have no problems on rainy or windy days.. You don't want to turn him into a sucky.

The rain isn't going to hurt your Lab. He is a water dog!! Put on your rain coat and jog with him for a half hour. That will burn some of his pent up energy up. He actually needs to get outside and get some activity daily so take him for walks, take him to the backyard and play games with him, take him to a dog park.....

Put on a raincoat, or a jacket, put on a dust mask if need be, and take that little guy for a walk.

Rest assured, he will love it. The colder and wetter the better he will like it. Remember, he was bred to retrieve ducks from ICY water. A little rain, wind, or snow won't hurt him.

I'd say take him out and go puddle jumping - he'd have a blast.

Just not so much when (and if) he ends up needing a bath.

Get a job, the puppy has already proven he can go all day without a walk.
