You could ask your local council, they might do it free of charge.

When a home is infested w/fleas...there are the fleas themselves...and also always many, many flea eggs. The problem may be that you are killing the living fleas, but not the unhatched eggs. You must treat the fleas (which does not kill the eggs), then treat again within 7 days to kill the eggs which hatched out since your first treatment. As for killing the fleas on the dog....I really recommend a trip to the vet. He/she can give an injection which kills the fleas (and the eggs when they hatch) via the dog's blood. Very effective.

Flea collars are pretty useless.

Flea shampoo helps for a one-time shot each time you shampoo, but you can't afford to shampoo TOO often as it removes too much oil the dog needs in it's fur.

I'll bet you ONLY flea bombed ONCE! If so, repeat every 4 days for at LEAST 2-4 times, and if your infestation is really bad, do it 6 times.

Hoover only puts the fleas (hopefully dead) into the vacuum.

SO... you need to bug bomb several more times...
AND.. sprinke Diazanon all over the yard so the dog doesn't bring more into the house.
AND.. if the dog is short-haired, comb him with a flea comb to remove dead bodies and eggs so you don't count dead ones as live ones when you check the dog.

ALSO... you can do one shampoo with Dawn liquid detergent and let it sit in the fur for a while as it's GREAT for killing fleas and ticks. Then rinse, and put a skin or fur conditioner on after the shampoo to restore the dogs normal body oil balance.

As to flea drops, if you're using Hartz, they don't do much. The more expensive ones really do work much better.

I suspect your dog is getting reinfected from fleas living in the rugs and on the furniture as I doubt you bug bombed more then once. So... do the added things I suggested and you should be fine.

Well buy a flea gun. Okay just kidding. This year I've had such a bad infestation of fleas with my pets. I've bought collars, drops, spray the house, vaccumed....NOTHING HELPS. If there is such a thing as super fleas then I have them. I took my cats to the vet and the vet gave them needles that kill the eggs and larvae on the cat. It cost me 50 dollars per cat and is good for six months. I've spent more on the collars etc. THEN the vet gave me these drops to put behind the cats neck. Which last 1 month. Try this. As for your home. This is what I did. FLEAS hate baking soda. It chokes them to death. MMMUUUUAAAAH (okay I will calm down now) The Arm & Hammer carpet deodorizer stuff works great. Buy the unscented or you can simply just use plain old baking soda. LEAVE THE STUFF ON THE CARPETS. DON'T VACCUME. This stuff chokes the fleas and they die. On a tile floor sprinkle this stuff along the base boards cause fleas love to hide in dark places. Makes sure you put it under beds and sofas. On the fourth day. Vaccume then repeat. I do this once a week. It keeps the fleas at bay. Hope this trick helps you and the fleas are no more.

Sorry to have to tell you this, but nothing you've used is likely to work - I think you might have wasted a fair bit of money!

Don't waste another cent on pet store products. Stores aren't licensed to sell medication, which proper flea treatments are classed as. They can only sell basic pesticides, which are no use against fleas. Fleas are in a class of their own when it comes to extermination I'm afraid. Take the collar off the dog, it's doing nothing except probably causing him to lose hair round his neck eventually.

Go to a vet to get some proper treatment - a spray for the house, and Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate for your dog. Preferably Frontline Plus. These are spot-ons, not to be confused with the ones found in pet stores. Make sure the stuff gets on his skin, not fur, and treat your house with something decent. No more overloading the dog with products that don't work: just one, simple spot-on.

are you throwing out your vacuum bag each time?

getting rid of fleas can sometimes take 6 weeks or more. ditch the flea collar, ditch the flea shampoo, use only frontline or advantage, ditch the flea bombs, and go to the store and get 20 mule team borax. sprinkle this on your carpet and then rub it into the fibers with a broom. wait 2 weeks and then vacuum and repeat treatment.

you are over medicating your pet which can cause serious and life threatening problems.

DO NOT use anything you can buy from a store on your dog, that includes everything you said collar, drops, shampoos. It's very toxic garbage and doesn't work. Call your vet and get whatever he suggests.

I have used the bombs once because I had a severe flea infestation and the bombs worked for me.

Have you used the products available from the local pet shop, if so, they are not very effective.

You need to use frontline, available from the vet or online which is cheaper (link below), and use Indorex or Acclaim spray to do the house with, it may need two applications of the household spray. Flea collars, flea drops (from the pet shop), and flea shampoo are a waste of money, my dog had a flea problem with his cat for years, and although I told him to use frontline from the vets, he thought it was too expensive, and wasted loads of money on flea collars, and drops from the pet shop. One pipette of frontline, and one can of Indorex and he has (or his cat has) been flea free for 18 months.

NEVER use FLEA COLLARS - these have been linked to the deaths of many pets - some stores wont even sell them...
get a flea comb and comb your dog in the sun - use sticky tape to stick any fleas or eggs to and dispose..
Advantage or Revolution work well..
Launder all dog bedding and toys.. mow your lawn short and stay out of dog parks.. vaccumm daily.. clean your sofa if dog is allow on it..

Use FRONTLINE or ADVANTAGE from your vet. Dont use supermarket stuff - it isnt strong enough and doesnt kill the fleas. For the house, use ACCLAIM spray from the vet. Its not cheap at £28 per can but it does do the job. One can does a 3 bedroomed house xx

Frontline works great. If your dog is crate trained then use cedar bedding in the crate it will run the fleas off quickly. It will take a few days for the current bites to stop itching but fleas hate cedar and will not stay on your dog if it beds in cedar.
