most of the time i do .. id say about 95% of the time after i play or pet her i will wash my hands .. i have a very sensitive nose and i can smell pretty much EVERYTHING, and i have a fingernail biting problem, so i know my hands always will end up in my mouth so i just wash my hands afterwards. i go threw TONS of soap though lol. but i wash my hands after everything from touching the vacuum to picking up dirty laundry to wash them. i guess you could say im ocd on the handwashing.

If I washed my hands every time I petted one of my dogs, I would have bloody stumps, not hands, from washing so much. My dogs are all indoor dogs and kept very clean, so I don't feel the need to wash my hands everytime, umless I am going to eat.

If I washed my hands every time I pet my dogs, I'd never have time to pet them. I do wash well with soap and water before having anything to do with food, even theirs.
I wash my hands after I pet someone else's dog. I pretty conscious about washing with soap, water and friction whether with the dogs or not. It concerns me that a vet nurse doesn't wash between dogs. Isn't that increasing the chance of spreading disease to other dogs? That's why I wash after someone elses dog. Even tho it looks healthy, I don't want to bring anything home to my dogs.

I am a clean freak but I have to say no.
If I am going to dig into the ice bucket or a fresh bag of chips I will wash so I won't contaminate others, but for the most part I pet my dog so often my hands would be wet all day.

Nope. I do have OCD and one of my behaviors is hand washing. I wash them on average every 15-30 minutes in a day. Suprisingly though, touching my dogs is not something that triggers the need to wash them. Go figure.

If I *have* to wash my hands after touching one of the dogs I know it's time for grooming. I'm a bit of a clean freak, I tend to wash my hands often.

If we have a big cuddle session then yes. If I'm just petting his head or his back, then no, unless I'm going to eat or get on the computer, then yes.
I'm pretty big on the hand washing, I must say.
If I've been petting someone else's dog then I wash up asap.

No way. I pet my dog all day long, and if you have a dog you should be doing the same. If you were to wash your hands immediately after petting them you'd be wasting your day. I hate it when people get pets and don't pay enough attention to them. If you feel the need to wash your hands after playing with your pet perhaps you should bathe them more often.

It depends on what I'm doing next or at the time. I always wash my hands before cooking, eating etc.
Remember that people that grow up with some germs are healthier in the long run!

Depends on what I'm doing, if I am fixing to cook, eat, or something ya. But if its at night and she is just snuggled up to me then no. Anyway, I wash my hands alot, I'm a little bit of a clean freak!
