I have a female dog thats ready to go in labor in a few days. I know when dogs have puppies the puppies are born inside some sort of bag, now the thing im concerned about is if noones home when she gives birth and she doesn't take the bag off of the puppies fast enough can the puppies suffocate?

Ok My 10 Month old Shitsue Terrier ...If thats How you Spell it aha
Well Any Way...
We Were Rubbin' Her Belly! And We Notice She Doubled In Size About 3 times! [Could Be Cause of Eating Human Food Though?]
And that Her Nipples Are Popping out [And Turning Purple-ish]
Could she Be Pregnant?
Or is there any other Reason Her Nipples Would Do that ha ha

We havent Gone To the Vet Yet!

My Dad Wants To shoot Her [He's Joking!..... I think]
Cause He's had Sooo Many Dogs that had Milllionssss! of puppies
and cant Stand them haha

I'm watching the dog show on TV... They're all so cute! But I look at some, and I think they are cuter than others.

Personality wise, my favorite dogs are Bassetts, Great Danes, and English Sheepdogs. But I think the Sharpei or Pembroke Corgi has to be the cutest looking. But then there's the Sheltie, and the Bull Terrier... I CAN'T DECIDE!!!

So, what is your favorite breed of dog? I know they're all good, but just for fun, TRY and pick one (unlike me :-) ).

Today I came home from school and I petted my dog on the head. But I noticed something really strange. At the back of her ears, behind the flaps, there were two large brown spots. It looked like brown gunk and when I took a wet paper towel to wipe it off, it was red against the paper towel. There's nothing going on inside the ear for what I could see. What is going on with my dog? I'm freaking out.

My puppy loves to try and get outdoors and explore off leash. It scares me because she sometimes will sit in the middle of the road! When I call her she does not come and if you walk towards her she runs. I think she thinks its a game. She has gone to training but she just does not listen. She is well taken care of and she loves us to death (her favorite thing is to sleep under the covers.) So I dont think she wants to get away from us. With a six year old always leaving the door open it is hard. When she gets outside if I open the car door she comes and jumps in but now she know if she gets in the car she will be caught. What do I do?

I had my GSD pair in a kennel together today for the first time durring this heat. Once they tied/ seperated, I had to go out of town on an errand. Since they grew up together and got along well I left them in the same Kennel. about 5-6hrs later I cam home to my female outside of the kennel (6ft tall, so how she got out is still in question,) in a field nearby. I spoke to neighbors, asking if they had noticed any males near her etc. None had, but I know of a couple males not far away who can get out of their yards. How likely is it that another male could have gotten her pregnant? I do not know if they tied again, but I do know they were together for just under 30min, and she for sure was in the kennel for an hour after. Also if all you recommend is for me to fix my dogs etc., this isn't going to happen, so despite it being a public forum, you're wasting your time if this is all you have to say.

Surprising isn't it, something that we find so delectable, but it is deadly poison to them.

My Pug Delivered 6 healthy pups with no problems at all. She was doing great and then 24 hours later she is starting to pant very heavily. There is no abnormal discharge, and everything else seems fine. Puppies are eating great and she is being a great mom...why the very heavy panting?

I have a 5 moth old puppy. I got her from the pound, and so idk what breed or mix she is. The pound said rottweiler chow mix. I think something else, because she only weighs like 15 - 30 pounds. This is not a picture of her, i will post one of her soon, but this is what she looks like, exept she has cropped ears. But otherwhise this is exactly what she looks like.
The ears are natural cropped. I picked her up when she was only 7 weeks and her ears were down. Then they cropped at 4 monthes, now shes 5 moths.

what precautions should i take so that he doesn't get injuries or strains his muscles? i also give him Omega-3 oil for his skin.
am i doing the right thing by making him run? (only started this routine yesterday!)
by running on hard surfaces, will he develop permanent injuries, joint problems etc?
since he is running on tar/concrete roads, does he need any additional supplements (such as joint lubrication? etc)
he enjoys every moment of his running and usually make him run for about 15-minutes while i bicycle.
i feed him on lamb and rice in the afternoons and Pedigree (formulated pellets) at nights. would be grateful for tips.

I recently became the owner of an 18 month old pit bull dog. She is in need of a manicure, and I can't afford to take her to a groomer. I bought an at-home manicure kit, but the instructions weren't very informative. They said to be careful about cutting the vein. What vein? How short is too short? I love my dog, and don't want to hurt her. If anyone can suggest a good website about dog grooming or if anyone has any tips--Thanks!

She is so frustrated in bumping in to things...she continues to sit in one place...thus not getting any excerise...I usually tell her to be careful when she goes out and with that command she knows to slow down...and turns her head....but I have to be with her all the time and talk to her...otherwise she is still healthy and is eatting and deficating...I don't want to loose her but if she is in pain or sick...I would have to do that...
