First, talk to the neighbor.

At 3 in the morning!
If the dogs bark all night, and you can't sleep, make sure they aren't sleeping either.
This worked for me. I went over rang the bell (pressed my finger on it until someone came to the door) and acted cheery and up-beat. Like it was noon and I was inviting them to lunch. I politely told her she needed to hush her dog. She slamed the door in my face, but brought the dog in the house.
For an hour.
He was back barking an hour later, and, you guessed it, I was back at the door.

Better yet, get an air horn. They make an ear-splitting sound! I did this one too, but it was when someone kept blocking my car into my parking spot. Wake the neighbors ONCE and watch a near riot! Never happened again.

Dog whistles are sold at pet stores. Dogs can hear them more than people, and it really annoys them. It can back fire into howling though, so beware.

Yes! There is this awesome product that I had seen once a few years ago and have finally found someone who sells it. It is this device you hang outside either on a tree or fence. It has a sensor to where if any dog within so many feet of it starts barking, it will emit a high pitched noise to distract the dog and make him stop barking. People cannot hear the noise so you can leave it on all day and night. The best part is that you don't need your neighbors permission and it doesn't hurt the dog (since his owner obviously ignores him barking outside all the time, its not his fault hes bored).

It is cheap too! Good luck!

Talk with your neighbors and tell them how much it disturbs you. Is it a problem at night? If so, I would ask them to try to use something called a citronella spray collar. Don't go for the kind of devices that shock the dog and hurt it to make it stop barking. The collars work great. When the dog barks, it senses it, and harmlessly sprays citronella in its face. Dogs hate the smell and since they learn easily about the consequences of their actions, they should stop within a few days.

I have the same problem..Are we neighbors? The best way is to talk with the owner. If it doesn't work, I don't know what will. A dog barks to call attention, either it wants to be freed from retraints (chains) or have been left out of the house (if it was used to sleeping indoors in the first place.) They're simply telling us, or their master, that they are uncomfortable. Or someone is prowling the master's area.

u cant really make the dogs stop their barking.. its their way of communication you know.. why dont you just talk to your neighbor and tell him to set alternatives to minimize the noise.. a dog doesnt bark without any reasons you know.. just go talk to your neighbor in a way that he wont get a wrong impression or something.. but if the dog barks will not stop call the proper authorities to deal with it..

There are silencing devices yes. Better to file complaints with the authorities though. I feel for ya......my neighbor's dogs bark all day while he's gone.

Have you tried talking to your neighbor to let them know about their dogs barking?

Sometimes the owners can be unaware of it, if you let them know they may do what they can to get the dog to stop.

As a professional dog trainer for over 16 years, I have to tell you my strong opinion that you need these group classes for obedience training. http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?D86j

Other pet warehouses are there to get you to buy their products and hang around their strore. And their trainers are their employees...never forget they have an agenda. Most of the trainers have very little education--if they had actual training and skills they wouldn't be there making just over minimum wage--trust me on this. But even if they did have experience and talent...a group setting is a terrible place for learning to take place. It's distraction training and it is the LAST phase of training not the first. You wouldn't have your child try to do their homework in a toy store, would you? Of course not...the level of distraction would be too high! It's the same with dogs. Having said that, these classes can be an excellent way to socialize dogs...but not to train them. And while they appear to be cheaper than a professional trainer...you have to attend many more sessions to get the same results because of the poor learning environment--so you wind up spending MORE money for less training than you would with a professional. Save your money and go to someone who actually knows how to train dogs. OR, read books and try to train your dog yourself. There is nothing they train at a Petsmart or Petco that you can't do yourself with a couple of hours of reading.

Speak to the neighbours in question, and if they don't act on it, report them to the police for noise, especially after 10 pm. After they get a complaint, maybe they'll pay more attention to the problem at hand.
