I have been noticing that there are little bumps along the spine of my dog. It is lifting her hair.

Can this be caused by the heat?? What can I do to cure them?

All of them look regular except one of her nipples is red and swollen. She is three years old. Is that normal or should she see a vet?

They look totally clean and free from wax, although He hates having his ears cleaned (i cannot get ear drops or an antiseptic wipe near him only water and cotton wool), he is only 6 months old and his ears really stink! Is this normal or is there something i can do to help him (he is a bulmastiff and has floppy ears if that's makes a difference)

The boyfriend got me a 2 month old chihuahua for my upcoming birthday. He surprised me early, gave her to me last thursday. Ever since then she's been good and she adjusted quite well to the house. She stays in my room with me.

So... instead of using a crate, I improvised and I bulit like a little space, where she has her bed, her puppy pad, food and some toys.

She HATES being in there. I put her in after tiring her out before I go to bed. An hour later she's whining and crying and wants to come out and sleep with me. So normally I take her out, even though i know i shouldn't, with the bed and place her next to me and she sleeps.

i'm going to buy her a crate today because honestly she can't be dependent on me all the time to be with her. i'm going to be very busy with schoool soon.

But anyway just wondering what should I put in the crate.. Do I put everything in there?

i'm a first time puppy owner!

HELP!

I just got a new Chihuahua puppy. He is really well behaved and doesn't bark hardly at all in public. What places can I take him with me? I know certain places don't allow pets, but, he is so adorable, I want to show him off. Where can I take him with me?

We just got a 6 week old Australian Shepherd, (yes 6 weeks old!!! I know he is young but i can't help how old the puppy is when the owner sells them, when we got him, he was the only one left, someone else would have gotten him if we didn't) My question is since my boyfriend and I both work 8 hour days, I get home on lunch to feed him and what not, do you think a companion would be a good idea for him. Possibly a kitten? I heard if you start a dog and cat together when they are young then they should get along fine. What do you think?

before my mom leaves for work around 8ish she takes my dog outside and lets her poop and pee. yesterday and today ive woken up around 10 and found that she pooped on the floor. could this be because we changed our dogs food? (our vet told us to because she was overweight) about 3 days ago we switched from purina beneful to purina trim and fit. does anyone know of a good dog food that will help her lose a bit of weight and not make her need to go to the bathroom as much? nothing to expensive...
thanks

Ok, so I have a mexican hairless dog. He's 6 years old.
Usually I fed him all kinds of wet dog-food. But I found this diet to be bad for his teeth and overall not healthy.
We bought a couple of dry foods (different brands, mostly organic) for him but he refuses to eat that stuff.
I also slowly reduced his wet food consume.
He gets veggies, too. They seem to be somewhat liked.

I have been reading a lot about training and everything I read says you should reward him with a treat, but if you add all the things up that you are supposed to reward for that could be 100 or more treats per day. Anything else really effective besides treats. I don't mind giving him the treats if I knew it was healthy, but I have a hard time believing its ok to do this.

I am looking for a puppy....I just lost my 5y/o shih tzu and want a new puppy. A friend showed me a local site to search. I found a yorkie puppy that all was needed was $69 for paperwork....I knew it was too good to be true but was stupid and sent the money.......My husband found that this person has numerous ads for the same puppy in many states. the individual had a yahoo email and I would like to report them and the shady activities they are doing thru this account. I am sure I wont get my money back but I guess I will chalk it up to a learning experience and to know to go with the gut at all times.....So how do I report this person so they dont scam anyone else?

Hi all,
As I said I am new to dog ownership having always had cats I presently have 3 cats and now my Golden Retriever that I already love dearly. She is ten weeks I have had her for two weeks. she is so clever she will sit when I tell her to and comes when I call her. I had done all my research on the breed but I think nothing is as good as the advice from people that know the breed and have lived with them so really I would greatly appreciate any tips on toilet training I have been getting up every morning at six thirty to let her out I dont mind finding a little accident as I understand she is only a baby but the problem is this we could be out in the garden for an hour and she will wait untill we go back into the house to relieve herself and not in any particular spot it can be anywhere rugs being her particular favorite so I have taken them up. 2. plant eating I don't want to build a run as she lives indoors as part of the family with daily access to the garden when she wants

I have a new pup and his name is going to be "Quagmire" do you think that I can raise this pup into being a nice dog and defeat the reputation of what Pitt Bulls are known for (thereby people won't get scared to come over my house)?

do you have any tips? By the way I am a nice, caring and loving owner who believes in friendly dogs.

my papillon puppy is about 6th months old now. after a few weeks she would sleep fine downstairs in her superyard (u kno the ones for toddlers) and its cozy and she'd only whine for a second or two once we leave. but on saturday we got her spayed. the first night she had to wear the collar so she wouldnt mess with her stitiches but she slept bc she was tired out, the same with the second night but she kept whining so loud my mom had to go down there bc it was late and the neighbors could hear. last night we had her wear a shirt (she doesnt mind those) that cover her stitches unallowing her to pull them out. and usually that wouldnt bother her but tonight it did my mom had to stay downstairs but she stayed in her superyard and would wake up and cry whenever my mom tried to leave. i dont understand why she whines now but she didnt before. how can i get my puppy to stop whining?
